About
Xani is a Naarm/Melbourne-based contemporary violinist who uses electronic effects and live looping to create dance/pop/folk music. An AU Review Best Live Instrumentalist award nominee and stalwart of the Australian indie scene (The Twoks), she’s joined forces with Tim Rogers, Jens Lekman, Kate Ceberano, and others, appearing live at Hamer Hall and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, on ABC’s RocKwiz, and in the multi-award-winning Come From Away. The corner of the music world that XANI has come to occupy has neither walls nor ceilings. Fearless in her defiance of genre-based boundaries, “I’ve never strived for anything but freedom, using what I’ve learned in one world to build a bridge to the next.”
