We’re so excited to host this special weekend...a celebration of our first year of The Night Owls! Expect amazing live music, as well as partnered and solo blues classes for all levels of dancer.
Friday November 25 - Social Dancing featuring live music with the incredible Jessie Gordon with Andy Swann's Shake 'n' Shimmie Blues Trio, beginner dance lesson by Shob Nambiar and Joel Kohn, and DJed music by Laura Dee.
Saturday November 26 - Partnered and solo blues dance workshops with Jessie, Shob and Andy
10:30 am - 11:30 am: 'Conversing in blues': Start your day exploring our favourite ideas to create a great social dance. How to listen to and support your partner, working together to create beautiful moments of connection on the floor. All levels
11:45 am - 12:45 pm: 'Find yourself in the blues': Solo blues class in which you'll discover classic blues movements and stylings and how to embrace them in your own body. Great for your partnered dancing as well! For all levels
12:45 pm - 2:00 pm: LUNCH
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: 'Step up and shine': An opportunity to learn a solo blues routine focusing on the dynamic rhythms of blues music. Challenge yourself to improvise within the routine with the skills you discovered in the first class 🙂
3:15 pm - 4:30 pm: 'Challenge class': Challenging partnered blues class pitched for experienced blues dancers who are confidently social dancing and looking to extend themselves. (Not part of the All Weekend pass)
