Makeshift looms with John Brooks

About
Artist John Brooks will teach you how to weave on a makeshift loom in the gallery as part of the exhibition 'Tree Log Paper Book'. Basic weaving relies on horizontal (weft) threads traveling over and under vertical (warp) threads to form a stable cloth. While the more complex looms have been developed to increase speed and the complexity of weave structures, you can weave your own cloth using simple objects from pretty much anywhere. In this workshop, yarns and textile waste will be provided to create woven compositions using ordinary objects as makeshift looms.
