By purchasing a ticket you agree to the following:
(1) Receiving information about the Event by email from the Event Organiser.
(2) PHOTOGRAPHY, FILMING AND SOCIAL MEDIA:
(2.1) Sessions and social events may be photographed, and electronically recorded by official photographers.
(2.2) By attending this event, you acknowledge and agree that photographs, video recordings, creation of content, and other media (whether original or modified) may be taken during the event. These materials may be used by HAL, the Hellenic Lawyers Association of New York (representing the wider U.S), the Cyprus Bar Association, and the Plenary of the Greek Bar Associations, for promotional purposes, including but not limited to publication on their websites, social media channels (including on media sponsors’ platforms), member communications, and other communication platforms.
(2.3) By participating in the event, you consent to the capture and use of your image, likeness, and voice in these materials without compensation or prior notification, and will be used at the sole and absolute discretion of HAL. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify a staff member at the event.
(3) INSURANCE:
(3.1) The registration fees do not include delegates' insurance of any kind. Participants are strongly encouraged to make their own enquiries, and to take out the appropriate insurance, including for travel, accomodation, medical and health care, personal possessions and all other aspects of their attendance at the Summit and in their associated travels.
(3.2) HAL, the committee members of HAL, and the members of the HAL Organising Conference committee, or any employees, agents, or contractors of HAL are not responsible for advising, procuring, obtaining or acquiring any form of insurance, including but not limited to, insurance that covers delegates and other attendees against the cancellation of bookings for any reason, including cancellation or postponement of the Conference or for theft or damage or any other loss whatsoever.
(4) ALTERATION:
(4.1) HAL reserves the right to vary, amend or cancel any part of the Conference at any time in its sole and absolute discretion.
(4.2) HAL, committee members of HAL, and members of the HAL Organising Conference committee will not be liable for any loss, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any person in the event of any variation, amendment or cancellation of the Conference.
(5) CONFERENCE CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT:
HAL, the Committee members of HAL, and members of the HAL Organising Conference Committee will not be liable for any loss, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any person in the event of the Conference being cancelled or postponed for any reason.
For example: an Act of God; infectious disease outbreak; epidemic or pandemic; industrial disruptions or strikes, venue or service provider failures, governmental restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder or unrest, disturbance and/or riots; curtailment, suspension, and/or restriction on transportation.
(6) DISCLAIMER:
HAL, the committee members of HAL and the members of the HAL Organising Conference Committee will not be liable for any loss, damage or expense of any kind which may be suffered or incurred by Conference participants or by any persons accompanying them, both during official activities and any tour or other associated activity of the Conference.
(7) REFUND POLICY:
(7.1) Delegates may cancel their registration and receive a refund, less an administration fee of $250, provided the cancellation is requested on or before 1 March 2025.
(7.2) Refund requests made after this date will not be accepted, except in the case of extenuating circumstances.
(7.3) The determination of extenuating circumstances will be at the sole and absolute discretion of the President of HAL.
(7.4) By registering for the Conference, you acknowledge and agree to all Disclaimers and Terms & Conditions above, and all other terms set out in the Conference Booklet.
(8) MCLE/MCPD/CPD ACCREDITATION: If you are a holder of a Practising Certificate, and this particular educational activity is relevant to your immediate or long-term needs in relation to your professional development and practice of the law, then you may be eligible to claim MCLE/MCPD/CPD points for your attendance. However, as not all jurisdictions have the same requirements for accreditation, delegates should make their own enquiries as to accreditation.
