WHY WE HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that sometimes life throws us curved balls, and plans change unexpectedly due to reasons beyond our control – illness, injury, or a shift in personal circumstances. Other times, priorities simply change.
For us, cancellations are tricky. Our courses are small and intimate, and we run on a tight profit margin to keep our prices as affordable as possible. Cancellations, particularly those made within 6 weeks of the course start date, make it difficult to fill those spots and can affect the financial viability of the course.

Several years ago, we faced a decision: raise student fees to cover potential losses or keep prices low and charge a cancellation fee. We chose the latter, believing it was fairer to have the person cancelling bear the cost, rather than increasing fees for all students. We hope you understand this approach.

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY

If the course cannot go ahead for any reason (including insufficient student numbers or unforeseen events like Covid-related cancellations), we will notify you as soon as possible. You will receive a full refund for course fees and accommodation.

Out-of-pocket expenses (such as hotel, food and travel fees) are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance and selecting refundable travel options.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

If you need to cancel, regardless of the reason, the following fees apply:
Cancellations made 8 weeks or more before the course start date: A $500 cancellation fee will be charged. The balance of fees will be refunded.

Cancellations made within 8 weeks of the course start date: A $750 cancellation fee will be charged. The balance of fees will be refunded.

Exceptions: If we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist or if you find someone to attend in your place, we will waive the cancellation fee and charge a $250 admin fee to cover the transfer costs.

VENUE DAMAGE

Please treat the venue with respect. If any damage is caused to the venue or its furnishings, the cost of cleaning or repairs will be passed on to you.

TryBooking is an online system for organisations and community groups that has been designed to look after the entire event ticketing and registration needs.

All issues relating to the sale of tickets and the hosting of their associated event(s) are the responsibility of the “Event Organiser” and not that of TryBooking Pty Ltd (Australian Business Number 71126987915).
