What’s the show about?
A thrilling story of ambition, scandal, want-to-be influencers, and the dark side of fame
Set in the roaring 1920s, it tells the story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, two women who are both accused of murder and find themselves in the Cook County Jail. They vie for the spotlight and public attention, hoping to achieve fame, fortune, and acquittal with the help of their cunning lawyer, Billy Flynn.
The message of the show is about the absurd lengths that people will go to for five minutes of fame, and how the media manipulates and influences who society chooses to celebrate (and create celebrity from).
