All Mikvah users are expected to act in a manner befitting a place of holiness. Halachic and governmental guidelines mandate that this is required at all times. Prevention of sexual abuse of youth in the Mikvah is a communal responsibility necessitating formal guidelines. In all circumstances, police should be contacted immediately whenever sexual abuse is alleged to have occurred.
Policy The Mikvah administration requires that all users:
• Restrict use of facilities for Mikvah immersion purposes only (e.g. no swimming).
• Agree that access to the Men’s Mikvah at the sole discretion of the administration and no person convicted of child sex offences or any other related offences will be admitted to the premises.
• The administration reserves the right to withdraw permission for access to the Mikvah at its sole discretion and without any requirement to provide a reason to those refused access.
• Act and speak in a way that befits a place of holiness. This includes no inappropriate, lewd or crude discussion or jokes.
• Ensure safe environments for Mikvah - There should be: no concealment; bright lighting; a no-closed-door policy.
• Assist the Mikvah administrators in the implementation of this policy
• Report any inappropriate conduct immediately to mikveh@yeshivahcentre.org.au
If you are a parent of a child between 13-17 years of age who will be using the Mikvah, you agree to the following declaration:
I allow my child(ren) to access the mikvah. I understand there is no lifeguard present and certify my child can swim.
If you are a parent of a child under 13 years of age who will be using the Mikvah, you agree to the following declaration:
I allow my child(ren) to access the mikvah with me during my usage. I understand there is no lifeguard present and certify my child can swim.
