Terms and Conditions for Enrolment with Hennessy Speech and Drama Studio
1. Enrolment Fees and Policy
Enrolment forms and fees must be submitted in full before the commencement of classes.
Enrolment is undertaken on a per-semester basis, with each semester comprising 16 lessons. Any lessons beyond the allocated 16 lessons will incur an additional fee.
Once a student is enrolled, they are committed to the entire semester. Fees for the semester are non-refundable, even if the student chooses not to attend all lessons.
If a student does not wish to re-enrol for the following semester, written notification must be provided via email to r.hennessya@ssc.nsw.edu.au at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the following semester. Failure to notify within this period may result in continued enrolment obligations.
2. Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend all 16 lessons per semester (junior campus: 8 weeks per term).
If a student will miss a lesson due to illness or misadventure, 24 hours’ notice is required, ideally the day before the scheduled lesson.
Lessons missed due to school events can generally be rescheduled, but it is the responsibility of the parent/caregiver to:
Check the school calendar and assessment schedules in advance.
Notify the tutor of any clashes with an immovable school commitment before the week commences. Insufficient notice may result in forfeiture of the lesson.
Make-Up Lessons:
A maximum of one make-up lesson per term will be provided for lessons missed due to illness, provided 24 hours’ notice has been given.
Lessons that are missed or forgotten without notice cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
If a tutor is absent, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
3. Parent/Teacher Communication
For junior campus students, a Hennessy Speech and Communication Workbook will be provided and kept at school to ensure it is available for every lesson. Communication with parents will be via email.
For eisteddfod or ASCA exam preparation, a digital copy of performance pieces will be provided.
For senior campus students (Year 5 and above), all communication will be conducted via email.
4. Eisteddfods
Eisteddfods are typically held in Term 2. Students are required to prepare their performance pieces at home. Parents are encouraged to support their children by listening to their practice.
Eisteddfods incur an additional cost, which will be communicated prior to participation.
5. A.S.C.A Examinations
A.S.C.A. (Australian Speech Communication Association) examinations are conducted in Term 4. Students are required to prepare their exam pieces at home, with parental support in reviewing their practice.
These exams incur an additional cost, which will be outlined at the time of enrolment.
6. Photos and Footage
Any photos or video footage taken by Hennessy Speech and Drama Studio during lessons, performances, or other studio activities remain the property of the studio.
These materials may be used for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the studio’s website, social media, or promotional materials.
The enrolment form includes an option for parents to indicate whether they consent to their child’s photo or video footage being used for marketing purposes.
7. Liability Disclaimer
Hennessy Speech and Drama Studio will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and well-being of students during lessons. However, the studio accepts no liability for:
Injuries sustained during lessons or on studio premises.
Loss or damage to personal property.
It is the responsibility of parents/caregivers to ensure students are collected promptly after lessons.
8. Code of Conduct
Students are expected to behave respectfully towards tutors, peers, and studio property.
9. Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond the studio’s control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, or government-mandated closures), lessons may be rescheduled or moved online. No refunds will be provided for disruptions caused by such events.
