SSAA SYDNEY BRANCH – TRY SHOOTING AND FIREARMS SAFE HANDLING COURSE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participation in the SSAA Sydney Branch Try Shooting Program and/or the Firearms Safe Handling Course is subject to the following legal and safety requirements under the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW) and Firearms Regulation 2017 (NSW).

1. Participation Requirements
Minimum Age: Participants must be 12 years of age or older.
(Firearms Act 1996 (NSW), s.6B(3))

Legal Requirement – NSW Police P650 Declaration:
All persons participating in a Firearms Safety Course or Try Shooting session must complete the NSW Police Force Firearms Registry P650 Declaration – Person Shooting on an Approved Range or Undertaking a Firearms Safety Training Course, onsite.
This is a legal declaration under the Firearms Regulation 2017 (NSW), Clause 129, and is audited directly by the NSW Police.

Truthful Declaration:
Participants must read and understand all sections of the P650 form and declare information truthfully and accurately.
Making a false or misleading statement is an offence under Section 70 of the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW) and may result in criminal investigation and prosecution.

Identification Requirement:
Participants must present original photo identification (no photocopies accepted) issued by an Australian government agency or public authority listing:
Full name
Date of birth
Residential address (e.g., a driver’s licence or passport)
The ID must match the details specified in the participant’s P650 declaration.

2. Minors (Aged 12–17 Years)
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The minor must complete and sign Sections A, B & C of the NSW Police P650 declaration.
The parent or legal guardian must sign Section D of the declaration and provide:
Acceptable original photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence or passport)
The minor’s birth certificate or passport
(Firearms Act 1996 (NSW), s.6B; Firearms Regulation 2017 (NSW), cl. 129)

3. Overseas Participants
Overseas residents or tourists must provide a current passport as identification, in line with the Firearms Regulation 2017 (NSW).
No other forms of identification, with or without a photo, will be accepted.

4. Range Session Rules
The Range Officer’s decision is final at all times.
No photographs or videos may be taken without prior approval from the Range Officer.

5. Non-Compliance
Participants who fail to meet the above legal or identification requirements before the session start time will be denied participation.
Participants who are ineligible under the Firearms Act 1996 or Firearms Regulation 2017 (including due to P650 answers) will not receive a refund.

6. Refunds, Transfers & Wet Weather
Refunds or booking transfers will only be issued if 48 hours’ written notice is provided.
In the event of wet weather resulting in range closure, participants will be notified, and a refund will be issued (note: notice may be short).
No refunds or transfers will be provided for late arrivals or no-shows.
Participants who are ineligible under the Firearms Act 1996 or Firearms Regulation 2017 (including due to P650 answers) will not receive a refund.

Minimum Course Numbers:
Some safety courses require minimum participant numbers to proceed. If minimum numbers are not met, the course may be rescheduled at late notice. Participants will be notified accordingly.

7. Alcohol, Medication, Dress Code & Behaviour

Alcohol and Medication
Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
Participants must not consume drugs or medication that may impair judgment prior to shooting.
Shooting is not permitted for anyone under the influence of alcohol, prohibited drugs, or impairing medication.

Dress Code
Secure, enclosed footwear must be worn at all times.
Bare feet, thongs, or sandals are not permitted.
Avoid low-cut tops or singlets for safety and comfort.
Hearing and eye protection will be provided.

Behavioural Code
All participants must adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain respectful conduct on the range at all times.

8. Communication
A basic proficiency in English is required to understand and follow Range Officer instructions safely.
Staff/Range Supervisors’ Authority:
Staff and Range Supervisors on the day have the final say on whether a participant’s English proficiency is sufficient to safely take part.
If they deem a participant unable to understand instructions adequately, the participant will not be permitted to participate and will not be refunded.

9. Risk and Liability
Participation in SSAA Sydney Branch Try Shooting and Safe Handling courses involves inherent risks associated with firearms and shooting activities.
By participating, individuals acknowledge and accept these risks, including potential injury or property damage.
Participants agree to:
Follow all safety instructions, rules, and regulations issued by SSAA Sydney staff and Range Officers.
Release and indemnify SSAA Sydney Branch, its officers, staff, directors, volunteers, and agents from all claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from participation.
(This indemnity is consistent with risk disclosure principles under NSW common law and Civil Liability legislation.)

11. Declaration
By booking and participating in the SSAA Sydney Branch Try Shooting Program and/or Firearms Safe Handling Course, participants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, including all legal, safety, and refund provisions.

3. 海外参与者

6. 退款、改期及雨天安排
退款或改期仅在提前 48 小时以书面形式通知的情况下方可办理。
如遇雨天导致靶场关闭,我们将通知所有参与者并办理退款(请注意:通知时间可能较短)。
迟到或未到者不予退款或改期。
根据 1996 年《枪支法》或 2017 年《枪支条例》(包括因 P650 表格回答问题)不符合资格的参与者将不予退款。
最低开课人数:
部分安全课程需要达到最低开课人数才能开课。如未达到最低人数要求,课程可能会临时改期。我们将另行通知所有参与者。

7. 酒精、药物、着装及行为规范
酒精和药物
严禁饮酒。
参与者在射击前不得服用任何可能影响判断力的药物或毒品。
任何人不得在酒精、违禁药物或影响判断力的药物影响下进行射击。
着装规范
必须始终穿着安全、封闭的鞋子。
禁止赤脚、穿人字拖或凉鞋。
为确保安全和舒适,请避免穿着低领上衣或背心。
我们将提供听力保护和眼部防护设备。
行为规范
所有参与者必须严格遵守安全规程,并在靶场始终保持礼貌举止。

8. 沟通
参与者需具备基本的英语能力,以便安全地理解并遵守靶场管理员的指示。
工作人员/靶场主管的权限:
当日工作人员和靶场主管对参与者的英语水平是否足以安全参与活动拥有最终决定权。
如果他们认为参与者无法充分理解指示,则该参与者将不被允许参加活动,且不予退款。

9. 风险与责任
参加SSAA悉尼分会的试射和安全操作课程涉及枪支和射击活动固有的风险。
参与者承认并接受这些风险,包括潜在的人身伤害或财产损失。
参与者同意:
遵守SSAA悉尼分会工作人员和靶场管理员发布的所有安全指示、规则和规章。
免除SSAA悉尼分会及其官员、工作人员、董事、志愿者和代理人因参与活动而产生的所有索赔、责任、损失或费用。
(本赔偿条款符合新南威尔士州普通法和民事责任立法规定的风险披露原则。)

10. 法律依据

11. 声明
通过预订并参加 SSAA 悉尼分会的体验射击项目和/或枪支安全操作课程,参与者确认已阅读、理解并同意这些条款和条件,包括所有法律、安全和退款条款。
