By purchasing a ticket you agree to receive information about the Event by email from the Event Organiser.

‘The Event’ refers to Community Car Boot Sale, held on 8th November 2025, organised by Douglas Shire Council.
‘The Event Organiser’ refers to Douglas Shire Council.
‘Stallholder or Stallholders’ refers to all persons engaged as stallholders at the Event.
‘The Venue’ refers to the entire property, including buildings, and the owner of the site where the Event is designated to take place.
APPLICATION
1. By registering to be a Stallholder at the Event, Stallholders are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. The Stallholder fee is $30 (plus payment processing fees).
SITE LOCATION, ACCESS AND TRADING HOURS
2. Stallholders are expected to arrive and set up ‘bump in’ between 6.30am and 7.30am, all stallholders should be ready for trade by 7.45am. Stallholder vehicles cannot be driven on the event site for safety reasons between 7.30am and 12 noon.
3. The Event Organiser cannot guarantee that a Stallholder will be allocated a particular site requested by the Stallholder. Stallholder spaces will be allocated at the event location on the day. Stalls must fit within the specified space. Requests for additional space may not be met by the Event Organiser.
4. Stallholders must operate for the full duration of the Event, unless otherwise directed by the Event Organiser. Stallholders must ensure that their site is staffed during Event hours unless otherwise agreed.
5. Stallholders must comply with any reasonable directions given by the Event Organisers.
GOODS
6. Stallholders may only sell secondhand, handmade goods or business liquidation items, subject to the prohibited items outlined in clause 7. Stallholders must provide all their own display items like gazebos, tables, clothing racks etc.
7. Unless otherwise specified by the Event Organiser, Stallholders must not sell, any of the following prohibited items: (a) Any banned, illegal or restricted products; (b) Offensive, explicit or hard-core clothing or other items; (c) Alcoholic beverages of any kind; (d) Secondhand electrical items and tools; (e) Food; (f) Toys; (g) E-cigarettes and electronic vaping devices; (h) Bicycles, skateboards, skates, roller skates/blades, scooters and associated protective equipment; (i) Inflatable pools, life jackets, floating devices and other floating aids; (j) Protective or safety equipment and/or clothing/eyeware; (k) Automotive parts/accessories of any nature; (l) Sporting goods/equipment; (m) Swords, spears, bows, crossbows, firearms; (n) Knives, not including chef/kitchen knives or garden pruning equipment; (o) Nutraceuticals or cosmetics; (p) Any medical device or alternative therapy medical advice including any massage device; (q) Detergents and/or soaps; (r) Candles of any description including the burning or heating by flame of oils/essences; (s) Children’s toys and cubby houses; (t) Baby/infant/children’s clothing; (u) Flammable items; (v) Animal feed, pet food or pet food supplements; (w) Any other item that the Event Organiser, acting reasonably, considers to be a prohibited item.
8. The Event Organiser reserves the right to order the removal of any item from a stall which is considered comparable to any of the banned items. Stallholders selling any items detailed above may be asked to leave the Event.
RELEASE & INDEMNITY
9. The Stallholder agrees:
9.1 To release and discharge Council and Council's agents, servants, officers and insurers ("the Related Parties") from and in respect of all liability, claims, losses, damages or proceedings which I/we may have (either now or accruing in the future) against Council and/or the Related Parties in respect of, or arising out of, or in connection with the activity/activities;
9.2. That the release and discharge given under clause 9.1 may be pleaded by Council and the Related Parties as a bar to any action, suit or proceeding commenced now or taken at any time by Council and/or the Related Parties, against Council and/or the Related Parties, or to which Council and/or the Related Parties is or are joined as a party or parties, in respect of, or arising out of, or in connection with the activity/activities; and
9.3. That I/we am/are liable for and shall indemnify Council and the Related Parties against any liability, claim, loss, damage or proceeding in respect of, or arising out of, or in connection with the activity/activities.
9.4. The release and indemnity provided by you under 9.1 – 9.3 is, however, reduced to the extent that the Council and/or any of the Related Parties have caused or contributed to the relevant liability, claim, loss or damage.
10. The Event Organiser is not party to any transaction relating to the sale of Goods by you. You bear sole responsibility for the terms of any contract you enter into with any third party before, during or after the Event, relating to the sale of Goods. The Event Organiser does not assume any involvement in, responsibility or liability for Loss or Claims in relation to such transactions.
WASTE MINIMISATION
11. It is the Stallholders responsibility to remove all material and rubbish from their site by the end of the Event. All Stallholders will need to bring their own garbage bags and take their rubbish and unsold items away with them.
12. Stallholders should consider ways to minimise waste at the Event by reducing unnecessary and single use plastic packaging.
CANCELLATION AND TERMINATION
13. The Event Organiser agrees to use its best endeavours to provide written notice of cancellation of the Event to the Stallholder with a minimum of seven (7) days’ notice.
14. If Stallholders wish to cancel their participation in the Event, they must notify the Event Organisers of cancellation in writing via e-mail to Resource.Management@douglas.qld.gov.au minimum of seven (7) days’ notice prior to the event. Cancellations made after this period will not be reimbursed their booking fee.
15. The Event Organisers reserve the right to terminate stallholder attendance at the Event in the case of any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR
16. Stallholders are expected to work together in a supportive, respectful environment to create an enjoyable environment for everyone in all matters relating to the Event, whether through social media, email or during the Event.
17. Stallholders are advised that abusive language and behaviour will not be tolerated in all matters relating to the Event whether through social media, email or during the Event.
PROMOTION OF THE EVENT
18. The Event Organisers ask Stallholders to promote and share information about the Event via their own community networks and/or social media pages.


TryBooking is an online system for organisations and community groups that has been designed to look after the entire event ticketing and registration needs.

All issues relating to the sale of tickets and the hosting of their associated event(s) are the responsibility of the “Event Organiser” and not that of TryBooking Pty Ltd (Australian Business Number 71126987915).
