2026 Torrumbarry Fishing Classic Competition Rules, Terms and Conditions of Entry

ALL ENTRANTS MUST CHECK IN at the administration tent on arrival, before you commence fishing. You must have a numbered registration tag to participate in the competition. Failure to do so will automatically exclude you from the competition. The registration tent will be open from 1pm on Friday 10th of April 2026.
Competition Times Strictly:
Saturday April 11th 2026 - 7:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday April 12th 2026 - 7:00am - 11:00am
Competition Boundaries:
Fishing must be within the nominated boundaries which are identified by yellow floating markers. Further information is available at the registration tent.
Lure Board Raffle:
Entry by lure donation only. All lures must be in good working order. Hard body lures or spinner baits only, no soft plastics
Small lures receive 1 ticket and large lures receive 2 tickets into the raffle. Winner takes all!!! Drawn Sunday at the presentations.
Presentation of Prizes:
It is expected that presentations will take place from approximately 12.30pm on Sunday April 12th 2025. The Committee understands that many of you have to travel home and will endeavour to begin presentations as soon as the winners are known.
Early Bird Prizes:
To be eligible for the Early Bird registration prizes you must have completed online registration before Sunday 28th February 2026 at 5:00pm. Registrations received after this date will not be included in the Early Bird draw. Winners will be contacted prior to the event and can collect their prize at the registration tent at the event.
Catch & release event:
This is a “catch & release” event and we encourage correct handling of our native fish as recommended by NSW Fisheries.
All native fish are to be photographed on a brag mat showing the full length of the fish and should include your entry ear tag with the number visible. Send the photo via text to registration staff on 0498 682 705. Release your catch. We will send confirmation of your text. Refer to handout for recording catch procedure.
Regulations:
Fishing may be from a boat or the river bank.
All fishing and boat regulations as per NSW Fisheries and NSW Maritime. Please ensure all safety requirements are met. It is the participants responsibility to ensure they have a valid NSW Fishing Licence. You can apply online for a licence through www.servicensw.gov.au/services/recreational-fishing-licence. If you are in a boat, you must comply with all laws as per NSW Maritime.
Fishing is limited to:
LINES – 2 attended lines are permitted, they must be within 50 metres of each other, in your sight and have not more than 2 hooks per line or up to 3 treble hooks attached to any lure per line. Set lines are not permitted.
NO LIVESCOPE - this is a family friendly event and we encourage everyone to be given the opportunity to have the chance of winning the old school way.
Note Legal size – Murray Cod – 55-75cm, Golden Perch – min. 30cm. Fish caught oversize will be added to native overall length. Undersize catches will be recorded simply for the interest of tracking and data.
Brim do not count as a measurement for overall length nor a native fish.
Competitors will be disqualified if found to have illegal equipment or bait in their possession.
The committee reserves the right to inspect any equipment or bait used by the competitor and eject any competitor for misconduct.
All boats and equipment are the responsibility of the owners.
Protests – Any protests must be in writing and lodged with the Committee before the end of the fishing times. The Committee’s decision is final.
Any children are the responsibility of their parents and/or guardians. All children (U16) MUST wear lifejackets.
The organisers may at any time before the commencement or during the Torrumbarry Fishing Classic refuse to accept or reject entry to any person, without assigning a reason.
Liability – It is stated and understood that any person entering the Torrumbarry Community Club Fishing Classic does so at their own risk.
Any person taking part in the event shall indemnify the officials and organisers and any other entrants for injury, loss or damages claims whatsoever.
Event organisers take no responsibility for any personal items damaged or stolen whilst attending the event. These are your sole responsibility.
No dogs in the main event area.
Alcohol not sold at this event.
