Terms & Conditions – Parent Advocacy Workshop (“Event”)
1. Definitions
1.1 “Organiser” / “We” / “Us” / “Our” refers to Centre for Neurobrilliance.
1.2 “Attendee” / “You” / “Your” refers to the person who purchases a ticket and attends the Event.
1.3 “Ticket” means a paid registration for the Event, in whatever format (electronic, printed).
1.4 “Venue” means Ainslie Football Club, Canberra.
1.5 “Event Date” means 13 March 2025.
2. Ticket Sales & Purchase
2.1 All ticket sales are final. By purchasing a Ticket, you acknowledge that you have read and accept these Terms & Conditions.
2.2 Ticket prices are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include any applicable taxes (e.g., GST) and booking fees, unless otherwise indicated.
2.3 Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase.
2.4 Tickets may be non-transferable or transferable depending on how the Organiser sets up ticketing; if transferable, any name changes or transfers must be approved in writing by the Organiser.
3. Refunds, Exchanges & Cancellation by the Attendee
3.1 Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, except as required by applicable law (e.g., Australian Consumer Law). This means:
You will not receive a refund if you change your mind, are unable to attend, arrive late, or cannot attend for any personal reason.vNo credit or replacement ticket will be offered in those circumstances.
3.2 If you request a transfer of your Ticket to another person (if permitted), you must notify the Organiser in writing in advance.
3.3 Lost, stolen, or damaged tickets may not be replaced, or may only be replaced at the Organiser’s discretion and possibly upon payment of a replacement fee.
4. Cancellation, Postponement, or Change by the Organiser
4.1 The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or relocate the Event.
4.2 If the Event is cancelled by the Organiser:
Attendees are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price, unless otherwise required by law.
The Organiser will use reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders of the cancellation via the contact details provided at booking.
4.3 If the Event is postponed or rescheduled:
Your Ticket will remain valid for the new date, time, and venue, as determined by the Organiser.
If you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, the Organiser may (in its discretion) offer a refund or credit, subject to your request and the Organiser’s policy.
4.4 The Organiser is not liable for any additional costs incurred by Attendees (e.g., travel, accommodation) if the Event is cancelled or changed, unless otherwise required by law.
5. Entry & Venue Conditions
5.1 Admission to the Venue is subject to presentation of a valid Ticket (electronic or printed).
5.2 The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry or to eject any person whose conduct is disruptive, unlawful, or in breach of these Terms & Conditions or any venue policies.
5.3 Late arrivals may only be admitted at the discretion of the Organiser or venue staff. No refund will be given in this scenario.
6. Liability & Indemnity
6.1 To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser does not accept liability for any:
Loss, damage or theft of personal property;
Personal injury, illness or death;
Any indirect, consequential, or special loss;
Travel, accommodation, or other costs associated with attendance.
6.2 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser, its contractors, employees, agents, and volunteers, from any claims, damages or expenses (including legal costs) arising out of your attendance or participation, except where the law prohibits such an exclusion.
6.3 Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded.
7. Conduct
7.1 You agree to behave respectfully, follow venue rules, and comply with any instructions from Organiser or venue staff.
7.2 The Organiser may refuse entry or remove attendees without refund for inappropriate, disruptive, or unlawful behavior.
8. Health & Safety
8.1 By attending the Event, you agree to comply with any reasonable health and safety measures implemented by the Organiser or venue (e.g., COVID-19 policies, evacuation procedures).
8.2 The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry or require removal of any attendee who poses a health or safety risk.
9. Photography, Recording & Privacy
9.1 The Organiser may take photographs, video, or audio recordings during the Event for promotional or archival purposes. By attending, you consent to being photographed or recorded.
9.2 Your personal information will be collected, stored, and used in accordance with the Organiser’s Privacy Policy. Your details may be used to communicate important event updates or future events.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 All materials, presentations, handouts, and content provided at the Event are the property of the Organiser (or third-party presenters) and are protected by intellectual property laws.
10.2 You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content (in whole or in part) without the Organiser’s prior written consent.
11. Governing Law
11.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory (or relevant Australian jurisdiction).
11.2 Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
12. Amendments
12.1 The Organiser reserves the right to amend, vary or update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
12.2 Such changes will apply to ticket purchases made after the amendment. Previously purchased tickets remain subject to the Terms in place at the time of purchase, unless otherwise specified.
