Please note that this ticket is only an Expression of Interest and does not guarantee that you will be attending Snow Venture. Your Expression of Interest will go into a lottery to select the final participants.

Expressions of Interest close at the end of February.  The team will then draw the winter party from the EOIs. If you're successful, you will be sent details of how to complete your booking at the email address you provide (so please provide an email address that you regularly check).  

Successful applicants will be announced and issued with an invitation to join in the second or third week of March.  The cost to attend Snow Venture 2026 is $960 for youth members and is to be paid in full within 7-days of receiving comfirmation that you have successfully received a place.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. HEALTH & MEDICAL STATEMENT - PLEASE READ
Snow Venture is not suited to people with complex or significant medical conditions.  
Snow Venture is conducted in a harsh alpine environment isolated from medical and emergency assistance.  During Winter, the Bogong Rover Chalet can only be accessed by over-snow transport and in poor weather conditions, which frequently occur, access is further limited or not immediately available. The leader team have first aid training but we do not have any formal medical training nor do we have access to medical supplies beyond regular first aid supplies (band aids, bandages, etc), therefore we cannot manage nor care for difficult medical situations beyond a first aid response. Evacuation is sometimes possible, but requires significant leader resources, assistance of emergency services (parents must pay emergency service costs) and the immediate attendance of parents to collect their child from Mount Beauty (12 hour one-way journey from Adelaide). It also impacts upon the remainder of Snow Venture. While at Snow Venture, we live in a relatively confined, high-stimulus environment where personal space is limited. All party members are expected to contribute positively and cooperatively to the operations of the event.

2. Eligibility
2.1 In submitting your EOI, the applicant states that they meet all of the following criteria:
  i) Have experience hiking and carrying a backpack loaded for an overnight trip - Snow Venture is a physically challenging
activity.
      NOTE: skiing experience is not required for Snow  Venture.
  ii) You are physically fit and have no medical condition that will impair your ability to complete the trip safely without
support. Failure to disclose significant medical conditions may risk the safety of the individual and /or the winter party.
  iii) Have achieved OAS Bushwalking stage 4 and be competent and current with those outdoor skills.
  iv) Be over 15, but under 18 years of age on the first day of Snow Venture (10 July, 2026).
  v) Are a current and financial member of Scouts SA.

3. General
3.1 I understand that places for Snow Venture will be allocated once the EOI period has closed and that this allocation is
based on a range of factors to ensure there is an equitable chance for everyone to attend, regardless of their experience
or circumstances.
3.2 The Snow Venture Team reserves the right to refuse an application to join to Snow Venture.
3.3 I understand that the final price for Snow Venture 2026 will be $960. This will be payable within 7 days of receiving
comfirmation that I have successfully received a place.
3.4 This lottery has been created and managed using the Trybooking site and is subject to the Terms and Conditions of
