Privacy Collection Notice for the Best Start, Best Life Evening Leadership Series

The Department of Education (department) handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic).

By completing the registration form and providing your details, you have agreed to providing your information via the TryBooking system and for your information to be collected, used, and disclosed as described in this notice.

The Best Start, Best Life (BSBL) Evening Leadership Series is aimed at service and organisational leaders and run twice a year (hybrid). The events are hosted by the department and feature policy and funding updates and expert speakers. The BSBL Evening Leadership Series aims to ensure the ECEC sector in Victoria is supported to develop collaborative capacity and to improve leadership and professional practice.

What information will be collected and what will it be used for?
The department will collect and use your personal information for the purpose of registering and administering your attendance at the seminars, and to ensure the event is accessible to you.
Your name, email, Service Name, Service Approval Number, Provider Name, role, and any dietary or accessibility requirements may be collected to:
• confirm the number of people registered to attend
• provide you with the information needed to attend (either in-person or online)
• enable online participants to access the event via live-streaming
• accommodate any dietary or accessibility requirements
• contact you with a request for feedback on the event
• undertake evaluation of attendance and delivery of events (where all personal information would be de-identified)

Information collected will be used and/or disclosed for the purposes stated or where otherwise permitted by law.

How will my information be secured?
Your personal information will be managed securely and consistently with Victorian privacy laws by the department and any service providers, including on:
• department systems and servers
