Purpose Camp 2026 – Terms and Conditions
The Purpose Camp (Camp)(Event) is an overnight camp to be attended by children in Years 9 to 12 at school (Child) organised by the Sydney Catholic Youth agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney (Archdiocese).
The Event will be held 9:30am on 13 April 2026 to 1:00pm on 16 April 2026 at the Benedict XVI Retreat Centre, 347 Grose Wold Road, Grose Vale NSW 2753.
The Camp is an opportunity for teenagers to understand their faith and relationship with God and how they can live their faith in their daily lives.

Purpose Camp Terms and Conditions
General
1. I, the undersigned, wish for my Child to participate in Event.
2. I understand that the activities that my Child may participate in during the Event may include, but are not limited to, indoor and outdoor group activities, basic accommodation, communal eating, socialising, travelling in chartered buses, and that risks may arise during these activities.
3. I understand that the Event may involve physical demands such as such as ice breaker games involving light physical movement or casual team games and it is my responsibility to notify CAS if my Child may not participate in any particular activity.
4. I acknowledge that my Child will be supervised by Sydney Catholic Youth and its delegated Leaders (SCY) (who are over the age of 18) for the duration of the Event. I agree that my Child will comply with directions from SCY employees during Event. SCY employees supervising my Child at the Event will each have a verified Working with Children Check and completed safeguarding training and other safeguarding requirements of SCY and the Archdiocese of Sydney.
5. I agree that my Child will comply with all relevant laws during his or her participation in Event.
6. I indemnify and release the Parish, its priests, employees, volunteers and agents against claims and losses of any kind arising out of or in connection with my Child’s participation in Event.
7. Registration is made through the Trybooking website at https://www.trybooking.com/DJLYN.
Payment and cancellation.
8. The fee for the event is $330 (including GST). The Event fee includes shared cabin accommodation, food, transport and activities.
9. Payment of the total Event fee is required at registration.
10. If I cancel before 1 April 2026, I am entitled to receive a refund of the total Event fee. I am not entitled to a refund for a cancellation made after 1 April 2026, or in circumstances where my Child does not attend the Event. Registrations close on 6 April 2026, or otherwise at the discretion of SCY.
11. If, for any reason, any part of the Event cannot commence or continue as planned in any respect, SCY reserves the right to cancel the Event at its discretion.
12. If the Parish cancels the Event, I will be entitled to a refund of the total registration fee paid for the cancelled Event. #753081v1 1
Terms and Conditions
Medication or special needs
13. I will notify the Parish if my Child has any special needs, disabilities, allergies or other medical condition or medication requirements.
14. I will provide emergency contact details for my Child to Parish at registration, or otherwise prior to the commencement of the Event.
15. I understand that every effort will be made by CAS to communicate with me during the Event that my Child suffers any illness or accident.
16. I authorise the Parish to provide consent on my behalf where it is impracticable to communicate with me for my Child to receive emergency medical treatment as may be deemed necessary at any time during the Event.
Travel
17. I am solely responsible for, and will personally attend to, the travel arrangements of my Child to and from the Event. Parish employees will not be responsible for and will not attend to the travel arrangements for my Child.
Filming and photographing
18. I consent to SCY and its nominees:
(a) recording, filming and/or photographing my Child during the Event (Footage); and
(b) using my Child’s name, image, likeness and voice, and that this Footage may be reproduced and communicated by CAS for promotional, marketing or other purposes associated with the Event, the Parish, the Archdiocese of Sydney, and the broader Catholic community in any media.
19. I acknowledge that the Parish is not obliged to publish or otherwise use the Footage or any part of it.
20. I agree that any form of intellectual property rights in the Footage and all works derived or created under it are owned by the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney on behalf of the Parish, and any intellectual property rights that my Child may have in the Footage are fully assigned to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney on behalf of the Parish.
21. To the full extent permitted by law, I consent to the doing of anything in relation to the Footage that (but for the consents provided in this Terms and Conditions document) would otherwise infringe any moral rights or similar non-assignable personal rights that my Child might otherwise have including, but not limited to, publishing the Footage without attribution and modifying/ adapting the Footage.
Privacy
22. I acknowledge that the Parish collects my personal information and my Child’s personal information for purposes of the Event including engaging with me and my Child regarding the Event, assisting my Child during the Event, and promoting the Event. The Parish may disclose my personal information and my Child’s personal information to its related entities, contractors and third party service providers for purposes relating to the Event. I acknowledge that the Parish is collecting sensitive medical information about my Child and will only use my Child’s medical information for the purpose of assisting my Child during the Event if my Child becomes unwell or need medical assistance during the Event.
23. I agree that the laws of New South Wales, Australia govern these Event Terms and
TryBooking is an online system for organisations and community groups that has been designed to look after the entire event ticketing and registration needs.
All issues relating to the sale of tickets and the hosting of their associated event(s) are the responsibility of the “Event Organiser” and not that of TryBooking Pty Ltd (Australian Business Number 71126987915).
