9. For some events and classes we use Class Dojo. The aim of using this closed online platform is primarily to keep parents informed of the lessons covered. We might also share your child's accomplishments, but we cannot guarantee media assets will be created for every child or every lesson.
10. We negotiate timing and use of space with your school/venue and it is a condition of enrollment that you pick up your child at designated spaces on time. Repeated failure to do so might result in non-refundable cancellation of enrollment.
11. Our Term based lessons usually go for 1hr15min and our instructors are trained to manage timings well. However, for a range of reasonable factors, lessons timings may vary by a few minutes.
12. Young Engineers lessons bring together children of varying ages and contain core elements achievable by all, and extension challenges that most can attempt. On occasion, students may find it challenging to finish a model, and that is to be expected and does not detract from the learnings. We talk about ways of working to encourage good use of time over the term of the program.
13. Young Engineers lessons mostly rely on highly structured instructions for the building components. The lessons are grouped to teach and reinforce concepts. Throughout the term we use a few creative design lessons which allow students to put into practice these concepts.
14. It is expected that students will follow school rules even in an after-school setting or holidays. Our instructors are well trained to manage a range of behavior issues but will not hesitate to get in touch with parents if a student is having a particularly challenging day. Parents are encouraged to communicate expected behaviors to ensure a great learning experience for all.
15. (for term based programs at school premises only) as an external provider, Young Engineers is not permitted to collect students from individual classrooms. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child knows which day of week, which time and location to go to for Young Engineers Workshops.
