Terms and Conditions
By registering for this event, you agree to the following terms. If you are registering a student, you confirm that you are their parent/guardian or authorised representative and consent to their participation.
1. This event is for secondary school students and will take place on ECU premises.
2. Students must be dropped off and collected by a parent/guardian or authorised adult at the specified times and location.
3. The program includes supervised activities, including time in teaching laboratories. Students must follow all instructions and safety requirements at all times. Students who do not follow instructions or behave in an unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate manner may be asked to leave.
4. By registering, you acknowledge that participation in activities (including lab work) involves some level of risk, and you give permission for the student to take part. Students participate at their own risk, and while ECU will take reasonable steps to minimise risk, ECU is not responsible for any accidental injury, illness, or related consequences, to the extent permitted by law.
5. ECU reserves the right to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances or to make changes to the schedule, program, or delivery if required. Where possible, participants will be notified of any significant changes.
6. A $10 administrative fee applies and is non-refundable, including if you change your mind or do not attend. This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
7. If the event is rescheduled, you may choose to attend the new date or request a refund (excluding the $10 administrative fee).
8. Booking fees charged by TryBooking are non-refundable.
9. Tickets are not transferable without prior approval.
10. ECU may refuse entry or remove a student if their behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or not in line with ECU expectations. Students are expected to behave respectfully and courteously at all times and must not act in a way that could cause harm, create a hazard, or be a nuisance to ECU staff, students, or visitors.
11. Students must comply with all ECU statutes, by-laws, and directions given by staff during the event.
12. Students may be provided access to ECU devices and ICT systems for educational purposes only. Students must use these resources as directed by ECU staff and must not engage in any activity that is inappropriate or breaches ECU’s acceptable use policies. Students must not access, download, or store personal information on ECU devices.
13. In the event of damage to or loss of ECU equipment due to student negligence or misuse, the student and/or their parent/legal guardian may be held responsible for repair or replacement costs.
14. The event may be photographed or recorded. By attending, you consent to the use of images or recordings for ECU promotional and educational purposes. If you have concerns, please contact seadmin@ecu.edu.au.
15. ECU will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
16. Students must follow all health and safety directions given by ECU staff or relevant authorities.
17. To the extent permitted by law, ECU is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the event.
18. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
