ANZAC Day Speed Shear – Participant Safety Waiver
Evandale Football Club (EFC) – Morven Park, Evandale
By registering for the ANZAC Day Speed Shear, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Nature of the Activity
Speed shearing is a competitive activity involving the use of powered and manual shearing equipment, the handling of live animals, and participation in a working shearing environment. Physical contact with sheep, shearing handpieces, blades, and associated equipment is inherent to this activity.
2. Risks Acknowledged
You understand that participation involves risks including but not limited to:
Cuts, lacerations or injuries from shearing handpieces, blades or equipment
Bites, kicks, scratches or other physical contact from live sheep during handling
Slips, trips or falls on shearing boards, ramps, yards or surrounding ground surfaces
Physical strain or injury arising from the nature of shearing activity
General risks associated with attendance at a community sporting and agricultural event
Trucks, transport and other associated risks
3. Assumption of Risk
You voluntarily accept and assume all risks associated with your participation in the Speed Shear competition. You confirm that you are physically capable of participating and are not aware of any medical condition that would make participation unsafe.
4. Release of Liability
You release Evandale Football Club, its committee members, volunteers, officials, sponsors and representatives from any claim, action or liability arising from personal injury, loss or damage suffered in connection with your participation in the ANZAC Day Speed Shear, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
5. Age Eligibility
Participation in the Speed Shear is open to persons aged 18 years or older only. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. EFC reserves the right to refuse entry to any competitor who cannot confirm their age on the day.
6. Compliance with Event Rules
You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by event officials on the day. EFC reserves the right to remove any participant from the competition who poses a safety risk to themselves, animals or other participants.
7. Photography and Promotion
You consent to photographs or video taken during the event being used by Evandale Football Club for promotional and community purposes.
