1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern attendance and participation in the Fly‑In Event (“the Event”) hosted at RAAF Base Amberley. By registering for, entering, or participating in the Event, all attendees (“Participants”) agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions, all Defence policies, and any directions given by authorised Defence personnel.
2. Access and Security Requirements
a. Base Entry
RAAF Base Amberley is a secure Defence facility. Entry is strictly controlled and may require identity verification, vehicle checks, and prior registration.
Participants must carry valid government-issued identification at all times.
b.Visitor Passes
All visitors will be issued a temporary pass. This pass must be visible at all times and returned upon exit.
c. Searches and Compliance
Defence personnel may inspect personal belongings, vehicles, and equipment as a condition of entry.
Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry or removal from the Base.
2. Prohibited Items
Participants must not bring onto the Base:
Weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials
Alcohol, illegal drugs, or controlled substances
Drones, unapproved electronic devices, or radio transmitters
Any other item deemed unsafe or unauthorised by Defence personnel
3. Aircraft Operations and Safety
a. Operational Airbase
RAAF Base Amberley is an active military airfield. Aircraft operations may occur at any time, and participants must follow all safety instructions.
b. Movement Restrictions
Participants must remain within designated event areas.
Entry to hangars, flight lines, restricted zones, or equipment without explicit authorisation is prohibited.
c. Aircraft Interaction
Do not touch aircraft or equipment unless invited by authorised personnel.
Children must be supervised at all times.
d. Hearing Protection
Aircraft operations may involve high noise levels. Participants are encouraged to bring hearing protection and comply with safety briefings.
4. Photography and Recording
a. Photography Restrictions
Photography or video recording is only permitted in approved areas.
Filming or photographing restricted equipment, personnel, or facilities is prohibited.
b. Defence Approval
Defence personnel reserve the right to review and request deletion of any unauthorised imagery.
c. Media and Public Use
Images recorded at the Event must not be used for commercial, offensive, or misleading purposes.
5. Conduct and Behaviour
a. Participants must behave responsibly and respectfully at all times.
b. Disorderly, unsafe, or disruptive conduct may result in immediate removal from the Base.
c. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas.
6. Health and Safety
a. All Participants attend at their own risk and must assess their own physical ability to participate safely.
b. Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.
c. Participants must immediately follow all instructions given by Defence staff, event marshals, and safety officers.
7. Liability and Indemnity
a. Attendance at the Event is voluntary.
b. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Commonwealth of Australia and its personnel accept no liability for:
Personal injury
Loss, theft, or damage to personal property
Delays, disruptions, or cancellations caused by Defence requirements or operational needs
c.Participants agree to indemnify the Commonwealth against any claim arising from their own negligent or unlawful actions.
8. Event Cancellation or Modification
a. As an operational Defence base, all activities are subject to change without notice.
b. Defence reserves the right to amend, postpone, restrict, or cancel the Event at any time for operational, safety, or security reasons.
c. The Commonwealth is not responsible for any costs incurred due to changes or cancellations.
9. Aircraft and planning requirements
a. All aircraft entering YAMB CTR require ADS-B
b. All aircraft entering YAMB CTR require a flight plan to be submitted into NAIPS no later than 30 minutes before EOBT.
c. Aircraft are to arrive and depart YAMB CTR via an approved waypoint
10. Privacy and Personal Information
a. Personal information collected for Event registration will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
b. Information may be shared with Defence personnel and security agencies for verification and security purposes.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By entering RAAF Base Amberley for the Fly‑In Event, Participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
