All “BBI participants” (which shall include but not limited to officials, coaches and sports
players) that are part of BBI matches sanctioned by or controlled by Indoor Sports SA are
obliged to adhere to the Indoor Sports SA BBI Code of Conduct as outlined within this
document.
All “BBI” participants" (which shall include but not limited to official, coaches and sports players that
are part of BBI matches sanctioned by or controlled by Indoor Sports SA are required to register with
a club. No dual club registrations will be allowed.
This Indoor Sports SA BBI Code of Conduct applies to all persons bound by the Code of Conduct
from their time of arrival at the BBI host centre to their time of departure from the centre, and with
respect to Item 5 of the Code of Conduct, at all times.
The interpretation of the Code shall be made by the Indoor Sports SA Committee or their nominated
representative.
At all times all members and participants must:
* Follow direction regarding behaviour and conduct when given by an ISSA
representative or host arena manager
o Obey and respect all designated “non-smoking” areas, and areas where alcohol
shall be prohibited
o Any patron displaying inappropriate behaviour, physical or verbal, will be asked to
cease said behaviour. Further incidents of inappropriate behaviour as a result of
excessive alcohol consumption and/or under the influence of drugs, may have a
consequence of being evicted from the premises
o Not engage in abuse, harassment or other intimidation (be it physical, verbal or
sexual) of any other player, official, umpire, ISSA representative, or member of the
public
o Ensure a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play is encouraged at all times
o Ensure that any social media communication regarding the ISSA competition or
participants involved in the competition is kept in accordance with general good taste
and values and is not overtly slanderous or derogatory in nature. All social media
communication is considered public and treated as such by any disciplinary
committee.
ISSA takes all complaints/feedback about on and off-court behaviour seriously. ISSA will
handle complaints/feedback based on the principles of procedural fairness, and ensure:
o all complaints/feedback will be taken seriously by listening and making a record of
the alleged incident
o the person making the complaint will give full details of what is being alleged
o the person that has the complaint made against them, will be given full details of
what is being alleged against them and have the opportunity to respond to those
allegations
o all matters will be treated equally in the first instance and will be prioritised based on
severity
o decisions will be unbiased, and any actions taken in response to the complaints and
feedback are clearly documented.
If the complaint relates to suspected severe incidence of children and young people harm or
other criminal activity, then our association may need to report the behaviour to the police
and/or relevant government authority.
Indoor Sports SA is a member of the South Australian Cricket Association and Cricket Australia. The
association is assisted by the Department of Recreation & Sport and abides by the Australian Sports
Drug Agency’s policies. All players should be aware that testing is possible and that penalties for a
positive sample are severe.
