Read the Play 20 Year Gala Dinner
Event details
The Read the Play 20 Year Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.
The event will run from 6.30pm to 11.30pm and includes a three-course meal and four-hour drinks package.
Dress code: Cocktail.
Tickets
Tickets are sold subject to availability.
Ticket types and pricing are as follows:
Early Bird Ticket: $180 per person, available until 31 July 2026.
Standard Ticket: $200 per person, available from 1 August 2026.
Community and Sport Special Ticket: $180 per person.
Corporate Table: $2,750, including a table of 10 and event brand recognition.
All prices are listed in Australian dollars.
Booking fees, processing fees or transaction fees may apply and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Read the Play reserves the right to close ticket sales earlier than advertised if the event reaches capacity.
Ticket transfers
Tickets may be transferred to another person by the original purchaser.
Where a ticket is transferred, the original purchaser is responsible for ensuring the new attendee receives all relevant event information, including event details, dietary requirements, dress code, photography and filming terms, and these terms and conditions.
Refunds and cancellations
Tickets are non-refundable except where required by law.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person.
Read the Play may consider refund requests in exceptional circumstances, at its discretion. Any approved refund may exclude booking fees, processing fees or transaction fees.
If the event is cancelled by Read the Play, ticket holders will be notified as soon as practicable and refunds will be managed in accordance with applicable laws and ticketing platform processes.
If the event is postponed, tickets will remain valid for the new event date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, Read the Play will advise whether refunds or other options are available.
Program changes
Read the Play reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event program, timings, speakers, hosts, entertainment, menu, seating arrangements, sponsors or event format if required.
No refund will be provided for changes to the event program, hosts, speakers, entertainment or sponsors.
Corporate tables and event brand recognition
Corporate Table bookings include a table of 10 and event brand recognition.
Event brand recognition may include acknowledgement through event collateral, on-screen recognition, event signage, website listing, social media acknowledgement or other recognition opportunities as determined by Read the Play.
All logos and brand assets must be supplied by the requested deadline and in the requested format. Read the Play is not responsible for reduced recognition where assets are supplied late, incorrectly or in poor quality.
Read the Play reserves the right to approve final placement, size and presentation of all corporate and partner acknowledgements.
Dietary requirements
Guests will be asked to provide dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Read the Play will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements provided before the nominated deadline.
Read the Play and the venue may not be able to accommodate dietary requirements provided late or on the night of the event.
Guests with severe allergies should contact Read the Play before booking to discuss their needs. While reasonable care will be taken, Read the Play cannot guarantee that meals or the venue environment will be free from allergens.
Accessibility requirements
Guests are encouraged to advise Read the Play of any accessibility requirements at the time of booking.
Read the Play will work with the venue to make reasonable efforts to support accessibility needs, provided sufficient notice is given.
Alcohol and responsible behaviour
The event includes a four-hour drinks package from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, with a cash bar available after this time. Alcohol will be served in accordance with responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue policies.
The venue and event staff reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol to any person who appears intoxicated or is behaving inappropriately.
Guests are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly at all times.
Read the Play and venue staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any guest from the event for unsafe, offensive, disruptive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour. No refund will be provided in these circumstances.
Attendees under 18
This event is intended for guests aged 12 years and over.
Any person under the age of 18 must not consume alcohol and may only attend if accompanied by an adult.
Photography and filming
Photography and filming may take place at the event for promotional, marketing, archival and reporting purposes.
By purchasing a ticket to the Read the Play 20 Year Gala Dinner, you acknowledge and agree that you and any guests included in your booking may be photographed, filmed or recorded at the event.
Read the Play and its authorised representatives may use images, footage, recordings, likenesses or voices captured at the event in event-related communications, including but not limited to social media, website content, newsletters, media releases, reports, promotional material, sponsor acknowledgements and future event promotion.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, you must contact Read the Play prior to the event at (info@readtheplay.org.au). Guests who do not wish to be photographed or filmed should also advise Read the Play staff on arrival and avoid posed photography areas, media moments and formal photography opportunities.
Where a guest has advised Read the Play that they do not wish to be photographed or filmed, Read the Play will make reasonable efforts to avoid using identifiable close-up images or footage of that guest in promotional material.
Please note that guests may still appear incidentally in wide-angle, crowd, background or atmosphere images or footage where they are not the focus.
If a ticket is purchased for a person under the age of 18, the adult purchaser is responsible for ensuring the young person and their parent or guardian are aware of these photography and filming terms. If the young person or their parent or guardian does not wish for them to be photographed or filmed, Read the Play must be contacted prior to the event.
Guests may contact Read the Play in writing to request that an image or footage of them not be used in future material. Read the Play will make reasonable efforts to remove the image or footage from future use where practical. However, images or footage already published, printed, distributed or supplied to third parties may not be able to be recalled.
Guest photography
Guests may take personal photos and videos at the event, provided this does not interfere with the enjoyment, privacy or safety of other guests.
Guests must not take or share images of other attendees in a way that is disrespectful, intrusive, misleading or harmful.
Privacy
Personal information collected through the booking process will be used for event administration, ticketing, communication, dietary and accessibility requirements, seating arrangements, safety, fundraising and related event purposes.
Read the Play may also use contact details to communicate with guests about the event and related Read the Play activities.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and Read the Play’s privacy practices.
Read the Play will not sell personal information to third parties.
Health and safety
Guests must comply with all reasonable directions from Read the Play staff, venue staff, security, emergency services and event representatives.
Guests must not attend the event if they are unwell or have been advised not to attend by a medical professional.
Read the Play may implement health, safety or venue requirements where necessary.
Liability
Guests attend the event at their own risk.
To the extent permitted by law, Read the Play is not responsible for loss, damage, injury, illness, theft, delay, cost or expense suffered by guests in connection with the event, except where caused by Read the Play’s negligence or where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings.
Force majeure
Read the Play will not be liable for failure to deliver the event, or for changes to the event, where this is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
This may include, but is not limited to, extreme weather, venue issues, public health requirements, government restrictions, emergency events, industrial action, power failure, acts of God or other circumstances outside Read the Play’s control.
Acceptance of terms
By purchasing a ticket or attending the event, you agree to these terms and conditions.
The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring all guests included in the booking are aware of these terms and conditions.
