MPAA Approaching Landscapes Exhibition – Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
Participation is open to current financial members of MPAA. All participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions to ensure a positive and professional exhibition environment.
2. Booking Exhibition Space
Artists participate in the exhibition by booking either a Full Display Board or a Half Display Board.
The booked board represents the maximum display space available to that artist, and all artworks must fit within the allocated area.
3. Installation and Display
Artists are responsible for installing and arranging their own artworks on their allocated board during the scheduled installation time.
Artists may curate their own display within their allocated space. However, artworks must be securely installed using appropriate hanging systems approved by the organisers.
The exhibition Team Leader retains overall discretion regarding presentation standards, safety and the overall appearance of the exhibition. The Team Leader may request adjustments if presentation, framing, or installation does not meet exhibition standards.
Artists must not extend beyond their allocated board space or interfere with neighbouring displays.
4. Artwork Standards
All works must be suitably prepared for exhibition. The Team Leader reserves the right to decline or request adjustment of any work that is:
• Inadequately framed or presented
• Unsafe to hang
• Likely to damage the display boards
• Considered unsuitable for a community exhibition
5. Artwork Registration
All artworks that may potentially be displayed during the exhibition must be registered prior to installation. This includes any replacement works that may be hung if an artwork sells.
This requirement ensures that labels and didactic information can be prepared in advance for all works.
6. Replacement of Sold Works
If an artwork sells during the exhibition, artists are welcome to replace it with another registered work.
Replacement works must:
• Have been registered at the beginning of the exhibition
• Fit within the artist's allocated display space
• Meet the exhibition presentation standards
7. Sales
Artists are responsible for ensuring their works are clearly labelled with the correct title and price. Sales will be managed according to the procedures set by the organising committee.
8. Insurance and Liability
While every care will be taken in the handling and display of artworks, the organising group and venue accept no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to artworks or personal property.
Artists exhibit their work at their own risk and are encouraged to arrange their own insurance if desired.
9. Volunteer Conduct
This exhibition is supported by volunteers who help create a welcoming environment for visitors and artists.
Volunteers are asked to help maintain a friendly and inclusive atmosphere by avoiding conversations that may make other volunteers or visitors uncomfortable, including discussions about politics, religion, or explicit topics while representing the exhibition.
10. General Conduct
All participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, supportive and cooperative exhibition environment. The Team Leader reserves the right to address behaviour that may negatively impact the exhibition experience for artists, volunteers or visitors.
