Registration Terms & Conditions

By registering for the Karate WA Find a CluKb / Come and Try Karate Program, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions on behalf of the registered participant.

1. Participation

The Karate WA Come and Try Karate Program is a beginner-friendly introductory activity delivered in partnership with affiliated Karate WA clubs throughout Western Australia.
Participation is voluntary, and all participants are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors, volunteers, venue staff, and other participants.

2. Physical Activity Acknowledgement

Karate is a physical activity that may involve running, jumping, kicking, punching, balance exercises, and partner-based activities.

By registering, the parent/guardian acknowledges that:

The participant is medically fit to participate in physical activity
Any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or behavioural considerations relevant to participation have been disclosed during registration
Participation is undertaken at the participant’s own risk

3. Medical Information

Parents/guardians must provide accurate medical and emergency contact information at the time of registration.
Karate WA and participating clubs reserve the right to restrict participation if they believe participation may pose a safety risk to the participant or others.

4. Supervision & Responsibility

Parents/guardians remain responsible for the supervision of their child before and after the allocated session unless otherwise advised by the participating club.

5. Club Allocation

Submitting a registration does not guarantee placement at a specific dojo or venue.
Karate WA will allocate participants to the most suitable participating club based on:

Location
Participant age
Session availability
Club capacity
Training preferences where possible

6. Photography & Video

Karate WA and participating clubs may take photographs and video footage during sessions for promotional, marketing, reporting, and community engagement purposes.

Media will only be used where consent has been provided during registration.

7. Privacy & Information Sharing

Information collected through this registration will be used by Karate WA for:

Event administration
Participant allocation
Communication regarding karate programs and opportunities
Referral to affiliated Karate WA clubs
Participation reporting and program evaluation

Participant information may be shared with the allocated participating Karate WA affiliated club for the purposes of session delivery and follow-up communication.

Karate WA will manage personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws.

8. Session Changes or Cancellation

Karate WA reserves the right to:

Change session times or locations
Reallocate participants to alternative venues
Cancel sessions due to insufficient registrations, venue availability, instructor availability, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances

Where possible, participants will be notified in advance of any changes.

9. Code of Conduct

Participants and parents/guardians are expected to:

Behave respectfully towards all participants, instructors, volunteers, and staff
Follow all safety instructions provided by the club or instructors
Refrain from disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behaviour

Karate WA and participating clubs reserve the right to remove participants from the activity where behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

10. Consent

By completing this registration, the parent/guardian confirms that:

The information provided is accurate
They are authorised to register the participant
They understand and accept these Terms & Conditions
They consent to the participant taking part in the Karate WA Come and Try Karate Program
