Terms and Conditions  −  2026 Albany Badminton Tournament

Risk Acknowledgement and Liability Waiver
By registering for this badminton tournament, participants acknowledge and accept that participation in badminton and other sporting activities involves inherent risks of injury and harm. While the organisers will take all reasonable steps to provide a safe environment and minimise risks, it is not possible to eliminate all risks entirely.

Participants understand that injuries may occur during training, warm-up, competition, or other tournament-related activities. Such injuries may include, but are not limited to, sprains, strains, torn ligaments, dislocations, back and neck injuries, concussion, fractures, or other serious injuries. In rare circumstances, injuries may result in permanent disability or death. Participants with pre-existing injuries, medical conditions, or health concerns acknowledge that participation may aggravate or worsen those conditions.

By registering for the tournament, the participant — or, where the participant is under 18 years of age, their parent or legal guardian —:
* Acknowledges and accepts the risks associated with participation in the tournament;
* Confirms that they are medically and physically fit to participate, or have obtained appropriate medical advice regarding their participation;
* Releases and indemnifies the organisers, volunteers, sponsors, officials, and venue providers from liability for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or expense arising from participation in the tournament, except to the extent such liability cannot be excluded by law;
* Authorises the organisers to arrange or obtain any medical treatment considered necessary in the event of injury or illness, including ambulance transport and emergency medical care;
* Accepts responsibility for any medical, ambulance, hospital, or related costs incurred; and
* Acknowledges that obtaining personal accident, health, and travel insurance (where applicable) is strongly recommended.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Participants who withdraw from the tournament on or before the registration closing date of 19 July 2026 are eligible for a refund of their entry fee less a $10 administration fee.
No refunds will be provided for withdrawals received after the registration closing date, except where participation is prevented by injury or illness. In such cases, a refund of the entry fee less a $10 administration fee will be granted upon submission of a valid medical certificate.
Refund requests must be submitted to the organisers as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than seven (7) days after the conclusion of the tournament.
If the tournament is cancelled by the organisers, participants will receive a full refund of their entry fee. The organisers will not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, equipment hire, or other related costs.

By completing the registration process, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and consent to participation in the tournament.
