Code of Conduct
Maccabi WA Sports Day Camp is committed to providing a fun, safe, respectful and inclusive environment for children aged five and over. By attending camp, children, parents, coaches and staff agree to follow these expectations.
Our Values
Everyone is expected to be:
• Safe — helping all children feel secure and included.
• Respectful — treating people, facilities and equipment with care.
• Fair — following the rules and showing good sportsmanship.
• Proudly Maccabi — representing Maccabi WA and the Jewish community positively.
Campers
Children must listen to leaders, follow instructions, play fairly and treat others kindly. Bullying, teasing, swearing, rude gestures and excluding others are not acceptable. Children must remain in designated activity areas unless accompanied by a leader and must look after equipment and facilities.
Parents and Guardians
Parents are asked to discuss the Code with their children, encourage effort and enjoyment rather than focusing only on winning, treat staff and other families respectfully, and ensure children are dropped off and collected on time. Parents must support decisions made by Maccabi WA to protect children’s safety.
Coaches, Leaders and Staff
Staff must place children’s safety and wellbeing first, act as positive role models, provide age-appropriate encouragement, treat children fairly and respond promptly to bullying, unsafe conduct or inappropriate behaviour.
Strictly Prohibited
The following are not permitted at camp:
• Bullying, harassment, discrimination, aggression or threats.
• Energy drinks or stimulant tablets.
• Smoking or vaping on Maccabi grounds.
• Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons or dangerous items.
If the Code Is Broken
Maccabi WA may issue a warning, introduce a behaviour agreement, remove a child from an activity, ask a parent to collect their child early, exclude a child from future camp days or contact external authorities if there is illegal activity or a risk of harm.
Simple Rules for Children
Be Kind. Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Brave. Have Fun.
