Terms and Conditions  −  Sydney Cup 2026

1. Team Structure & Seeding

Team Composition:
• A total of 6 teams, each with 6 players. Teams allowed to register up to 9 players for rotation and substitution.

Seeding:
• Each team will have three pairs seeded as 1, 2, and 3. Seeds will compete against the corresponding seeds from other teams.

Rotation:
• Teams can rotate the substitutes in and out before each match, but not during a match.
• Players assigned to a particular seed cannot move to another seed.
• Player rotation is allowed if a player gets injured to finish the match.
• This rotation aims to manage player fatigue and offers more players the opportunity to participate.

2. Match Structure & Scoring

Match Format:
• Matches will be eight-game sets based on a sudden-death on Deuce.
• Receiving team can choose side to receive serve.
• The Set concludes at the completion of 8 games.
• Each pair plays against the corresponding seed from the other five teams.
• Every game won counts towards the overall tally of the respective team.

3. Winning Criteria

Total Points:
• The team with the highest total points at the end of all matches wins the tournament trophy.

Tie-Breaker:
• In case of a tie in total points, the team with the highest number of matches won will be considered.
• If still tied, the number of sets won will be considered.

4. Special Provisions

Player Inclusion:
• Teams struggling to find enough players are allowed to include one player from their social tennis group to complete their team.

Eligibility:
• The imported player should be from a Sri Lankan school (Example: should not be a local player or a child of a playing member)

Skill Level:
• In the spirit of the tournament, teams are encouraged to seek players with similar tennis skills from the social group rather than highly skilled players, and to pursue this path only if you can’t find 6 players from your membership.

5. Code of Conduct

Sportsmanship:
• All players and teams are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and fair play throughout the tournament.

Disputes:
• Any disputes or issues arising during the tournament will be resolved by the tournament committee, whose decision will be final.

6. Scheduling & Venue

Schedule:
• Matches will be scheduled to ensure that all teams play against each other. Detailed schedules will be provided before the tournament begins.
Venue:
• Matches will be held at Parramatta Tennis Courts, PH Jeffery reserve.

7. Insurance and Liability:

All players and teams are responsible for obtaining their own insurance coverage. RCOBA will not be held liable for any injuries, damages, losses, or other incidents that may occur during the tournament.
