TERMS & CONDITIONS (Trybooking)
• By participating in the Ballarat Dance Awards master classes and solo performance/s, you consent and acknowledge that Ballarat Dance Awards & 3rd party photographers "En Pointe Productions" (EPP) will be taking photographs of your child during this event. Photographs and Videos taken by BDA committee will be used for the purpose of promotion, marketing, social media. Photos taken by EPP will be made available for families to purchase.
I understand I can withdraw the above consent at any time by advising the Nominated Supervisor in writing.
GENERAL INFORMATION RULES & REGULATIONS
CANCELLATION
The Ballarat Dance Awards entries are processed by Trybooking.
Entries are non-refundable. If a registration should need to withdraw, the funds will be donated to Fragile X.
In the event of a cancellation of the BDA, a refund will be provided to all entrants. The Trybooking ticketing fee will not be refunded.
CONTESTANT FORMAT:
• Masterclasses form part of the overall contest; if a contestant does not attend the masterclasses, they will not be eligible for prizes/scholarships etc.
• The Judge’s decision is final and all prizes are at the discretion of the judges only.
• Any competitor, relative or teacher who approaches a Judge before or during the Masterclasses or Awards will result in instant disqualification.
• The Judges evaluate candidate’s potential based on: technique, musicality & physical suitability to the award etc.
• Judges will observe and mark the competitors on their participation in the Masterclasses as well as on their solo presentation/s in the solo.
• Scholarships and Prize allocation is based on candidate’s suitability for that Scholarship or Award.
• The age range divide for the solo awards will be as per the Masterclasses unless numbers in any age solo group are deemed insufficient or excessive. The age split will be done so numbers are relatively equal over all divisions (ie. Junior, sub-inter, intermediate and senior).
• An elimination final will only be held under exceptional circumstances if entries are excessive or the judge/s feel there is a need for a final.
SOLO MUSIC:
Music for the Awards should be emailed by Saturday January 1, 2027. Please ensure you have a backup of music on USB.
Please make sure that there is only ONE track on your USB.
In accordance with federal statutes, competitors must use original material or have permission from the relevant owners of copyright. The BDA organizers will not be held responsible for any music copyright infringements.
SOLO STAGE AREA:
ANTI-RAKE FLOOR (level not raked) Stage approx. 12m deep x 12m wide
White curtain backcloth for Performances. Side-wings are provided. There is no front curtain.
Dance Safe Tarkett Flooring
GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. BDA will not be responsible for lost property, or any belongings left in the complex and dressing rooms. Please ensure to collect all belongings.
2. Strictly no Photographs to be taken in the Dressing Rooms please.
3. All competitors enter and perform at their own risk.
4. BDA uses your personal information provided for the purpose of the competition only. Personal information is not passed on to any other organization for any purpose.
5. All fees are inclusive of GST where applicable.
6. BDA reserves the right to alter if the situation arises, age groups, prizes, location, sponsors, judges, etc.
FIRST AID A first aid box will be available at the front registration desk and a first aid officer will be onsite at all times. Students with existing medical conditions or injuries participate at their own risk. If any of your entrants have existing medical conditions that require monitoring on the day, please contact us via email to notify us of this and we will liaise with you (the teacher) directly if required.
PARKING Some free off-street parking is available in our private car park. Patrons Park at their own risk. More parking can be found in Joseph Street. Please feel free to drive in and drop off your child at the Complex front door.
