Permission for the use of photographs and videos:

With regards to respecting the privacy rights of all students, Utassy Ballet School is seeking permission from parents / carers / students, for the use of photographic or video images of students, to be used across a variety of mediums.
We are requesting that when completing the Trybooking enrolment, you also complete the section pertaining to permission for the use of images of the enrolled student.
Please find below an explanation of the use these images, and our expectations of all students and parents with regards to privacy of our ballet school members.
Photographs taken by staff and members of the Parents Association
Staff and members of the Utassy Parents Association may take photographs and videos of students as part of the structure of class, rehearsals and costume fittings, and performances. These may be displayed at the school, on the Utassy Ballet School website and Facebook page, or within other publications and promotional material. In the event of images of students being used in external publications ie local newspaper, individual permission will be sought from the students in question for the use of their image.
If photographs / videos are no longer required, the school will destroy them, or store them securely. It is important to note that while the school can nominate the use and disposal of photographs / videos they organise, the school has no control over the use of images taken by other members of the ballet school community, and will not endorse or accept responsibility for the use of these particular images.
Photographs / videos taken by a photographer engaged by the school
A photographer may be engaged by the school to take individual and group photographs eg production costume photos. These images will be distributed only to the students who are present in these photos. These images may also be displayed at the school, on the Utassy Ballet School website and Facebook page, or within other publications and promotional material.
Photographs / videos taken by other parents / carers and students
It is a general expectation and request that no photographs / videos are to be taken by parents / carers and students back stage during classes, rehearsals and performances. While this is requested, Utassy Ballet School acknowledges that there may be photographs and videos taken by other parents / carers and students, and that these are not endorsed by, or the responsibility of the ballet school.
If such photographs and videos are taken within ballet school events, there is an expectation that sensitivity and respect of the privacy of those students within the images is considered, in the use of these photographs / videos with regards to display and social media.

Phone Policy: Utassy Pty Ltd also prohibits the use of cameras/mobile phone devices/screens during and in between class times- unless strictly needed for study in-between class times for Senior Students only- out and away from all warm up and studio spaces. Due to privacy and our adherence to Child Safety laws- no devices of any kind are to be used within a rehearsal period for any production or performance.

Missed Lesson Policy:
Utassy tracks attendance of all classes, and will offer a make up class either of the same level, level above or below within the same week where possible. If more than 3 classes are missed in a row we will work with your family to find a balance of either classes or credit towards the next terms fees.

Utassy Parents’ Association Inc. A0023063Y:

WHAT IS THE UTASSY PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION?
In simple terms it is the parents’ club allied to the Utassy Ballet School. However, it is fully independent and financially independent from the School.
It provides services to the parents and students of the School in the form of newsletters, the uniform shop (competitively priced ballet uniforms and second hand shoes) and the costumes and sets used in the various productions of the School throughout the year. All of the costumes and sets are property of the Parents’ Association – not the School.
Costumes are made by volunteers of the Parents’ Association and are hired to the students at a considerably lower hire charge that would be the cost if the parents had to provide the costumes themselves. This is an annual fee invoiced per year per dancer. Made costumes are taken into the wardrobe for use in future productions. If you are able to help with costume making, alterations, labelling and the host of things needed to get the costumes (& students) on stage in acceptable condition – please make yourself known to Utassy PAC via utassypac@gmail.com or via Utassy Mgt.
Sets are made on the same basis, and again if you are able to help – please make yourself known to a Committee member.
Members of the Parents’ Association also ‘staff’ the performances as dressers, productions assistants, set and props assistants. Again, if you are able to help - please make yourself known to a Committee member.
At the end of the year the Parents’ Association presents prizes and scholarships to the outstanding students, and students who have made conspicuous progress in 12 months, to encourage participation and excellence. We also organise our annual photo days where professional photography of your dancer can be purchased at a reasonable price and memory for the future.

Production organisation, costume work and getting productions on stage are big tasks and the old saying of ‘many hands make light work’ really applies here.
WE NEED YOU!
Your skills and support can really make a difference. We are office workers, homemakers, teachers, nurses, plumbers, and all sorts – female and male. None of us who currently do this work knew how to do it only a short time ago but all are more than happy to pass on the skills learned, and to have a good natter! It’s social, it’s fun, and it really contributes to the wonderful productions prepared by the School.

Please do contact a Committee Member. It’s much easier for you to find us and tell us what you can do (even a few hours in the whole year), than for us to learn of your skills and find you.
Join in and have a great time!
