Highlands Chapters – Ticket Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a ticket to a Highlands Chapters Book Club event through TryBooking, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking
All bookings are made through TryBooking and are subject to TryBooking's booking terms and conditions.
Your booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and you have received a confirmation email.
2. Event Details
Highlands Chapters meets on the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm.
Venue details will be published prior to each event and may vary from month to month.
Each ticket is valid only for the specific event date purchased.
3. Ticket Transfers

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person by notifying the organiser via email no later than 24 hours before the event.

4. Refund Policy

Tickets are non-refundable if you are unable to attend due to a change in your personal circumstances.

However, refunds or remedies will be provided where required under Australian Consumer Law, including where:

the event is cancelled by the organiser;
the event is significantly changed in a way that materially affects your attendance; or
you are otherwise entitled to a remedy under law.

Where an event is cancelled by Highlands Chapters, attendees will be offered either:

a full refund of the ticket price; or
the option to transfer their booking to the next available event.

Booking fees charged by TryBooking are subject to TryBooking's own policies.

5. Event Changes

Highlands Chapters reserves the right to:

change the venue within the Southern Highlands;
substitute the discussion facilitator if required;
change the monthly book selection due to circumstances beyond our control; or
postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

Where practical, attendees will be notified as soon as possible.

6. Minimum Attendance

A minimum number of attendees may be required for an event to proceed. If this minimum is not reached, Highlands Chapters reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event. In this case, attendees will be offered a transfer to a future event or a full refund of the ticket price.

7. Food & Drinks

Unless otherwise stated, food and beverages are not included in the ticket price. Guests are responsible for purchasing their own food and drinks from the venue.

8. Code of Conduct

Highlands Chapters aims to provide a friendly, respectful and inclusive environment.

By attending, you agree to:

treat all attendees with courtesy and respect;
allow differing opinions during discussions;
refrain from offensive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour; and
comply with any reasonable directions given by the organiser or venue staff.

Anyone whose behaviour is considered inappropriate may be asked to leave the event without refund.

9. Photography & Social Media

Photographs or short video clips may be taken during the event for promotional purposes.

If you would prefer not to appear in photographs or videos, please advise the organiser upon arrival and we will make every reasonable effort to respect your wishes.

10. Personal Responsibility

Attendees participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own personal belongings.

To the extent permitted by law, Highlands Chapters, its organisers and host venues accept no responsibility for loss, damage, theft or personal injury, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

11. Privacy

Information collected during the booking process will be used only to administer your booking, communicate event information and, where you have consented, send future Highlands Chapters updates.

Your personal information will not be sold or shared with third parties other than those required to facilitate your booking or as required by law.

12. Contact

For booking enquiries, please contact Highlands Chapters before the event. We are happy to assist with ticket transfers or any questions regarding your booking.

By completing your booking through TryBooking, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
