Maccabi WA Sports Day Camp Code of Conduct
Maccabi WA Sports Day Camp is about fun, safety, respect and community for
children aged 4–12 years.
By attending camp, all campers, parents, coaches and staff agree to follow this Code.
Our Values
• Safe – everyone has the right to feel safe and included.
• Respectful – we respect leaders, staff, facilities and each other.
• Fair – we play by the rules and in the spirit of the game.
• Proudly Maccabi – we represent Maccabi WA and the Jewish community with pride.
Campers (Children) agree to:
• Listen to and follow instructions from camp leaders and staff.
• Play by the rules, be a good sport and try their best.
• Be kind to others – no teasing, bullying or leaving people out.
• Use friendly, respectful language – no swearing or rude gestures.
• Stay in camp/activity areas and go with a leader if they need to leave.
• Look after equipment, rooms and outdoor areas.
Parents & Guardians agree to:
• Support their child to follow this Code and talk it through with them.
• Focus on effort, enjoyment and improvement, not just winning.
• Treat leaders, officials, staff, other parents and children with respect.
• Ensure children are dropped off and collected on time each day.
• Support Maccabi WA decisions made to keep children safe.
Coaches, Leaders & Staff agree to:
• Always put children’s safety and wellbeing first.
• Be positive role models and use encouraging, age-appropriate feedback.
• Treat all children fairly, regardless of ability or background.
• Quickly address poor behaviour, bullying or unsafe conduct.
Strictly Not Allowed at Camp
• Bullying, harassment or discrimination (including online).
• Physical or verbal aggression or threats.
• Caffeinated energy drinks or stimulant tablets.
• Smoking or vaping by anyone on Maccabi grounds.
• Alcohol or illegal drugs on site.
• Weapons or dangerous items of any kind.
If the Code is Broken
Maccabi WA may act, which can include:
• Warnings and behaviour agreements.
• Removal from activities or groups.
• Asking a parent/guardian to collect their child early and/or not return to later camp days.
• Contacting external authorities if there is illegal activity or risk of harm.
At Maccabi WA Sports Day Camp I will:
Be Kind – include others, share and use kind words.
Be Safe – listen to leaders, stay where I’m meant to be.
Be Respectful – to leaders, helpers, other kids and equipment.
Be Brave – try new games and do my best.
Have Fun – join in, smile and help make camp awesome for everyone!
