2027 - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Welcome to Chinchilla’s Melon Festival’s 2027 Quality Craft, Fashion & Food Markets.
In 2027 the Markets will be held on Saturday 20th February 2027.
It is the responsibility of all stallholders to read this document carefully before submitting an application as making a booking implies that you have read and accepted all the current terms and conditions.
All stallholders are expected to treat Melon Festival Committee members, volunteers, staff, other stallholders and members of the public with courtesy and respect at all times.
The Melon Festival Committee reserves the right to refuse a stallholder's participation in future festivals where their conduct is considered inappropriate or disrespectful. By participating in the festival, stallholders agree to abide by these expectations and to treat all Committee members and volunteers with respect.
General
1. Saturday 20th Of February 2027, markets will commence at 7.30am to 3.30 pm, in Heeney & Middle Streets, Chinchilla.
2. All stallholders must maintain a high-quality presentation of products and stall layout.
Stalls and Allocation
3. Setting up of market stalls are not to commence prior to 5 am Saturday.
4. Stall spaces available are 5m x 5m (Regular) and 10m x 5m (Large).
5. Location requests will be met where possible, but suitability and stall allocation decisions rest solely with committee.
6. Once booking is confirmed by receipt, it cannot be refunded unless in extreme circumstances and a letter is sent to the Chinchilla Melon
Festival Committee.
7. Stallholders may not swap stall locations, or set up outside the designated stall area.
Power Requirements
8. While there are limited powered sites the demand for powered sites has grown and is recommended those requiring power bring their own generator to power the site.
• The generator noise must be kept to minimum.
Insurance
9. All stallholders must have current public liability insurance and supply a copy of their Certificate of Currency with their application.
Booking and Payment
10. Stallholders must complete the TryBooking application form.
11. All payments received through TryBooking.com
12. Public Liability must be emailed before application can be approved - email melon.stallholders@hotmail.com
13. All applications and payments are to be made by 30th of November 2026
14. Late applications will be assessed at the discretion of the Market Stall Coordinator.
15. A confirmation email will be sent once site has been allocated.
16. Stall allocations are usually completed 2 weeks before festival.
17. The payment will be processed at time of application. Once booking is confirmed by receipt, it cannot be refunded unless in extreme circumstances and an email is sent to the Coordinator.
Parking, Vehicles and Access
18. No vehicles will be allowed to remain at the market stall sites unless they are being used to sell goods out of.
19. Vehicles may enter the market site area to set up the stalls between the hours of 5 am—7.30 am. All vehicles to be removed from site by 7.30 am.
20. Stallholders must pack up their stall prior to leaving the site.
Marquees, Tables and Chairs
21. Stallholders are responsible for bringing and using their own marquees, tables, chairs etc and must be secured. There is limited shade along the street.
22. Stallholders are responsible to ensure that any structures do not compromise the safety of the public & must be secured.
Products
23. No offensive or dangerous items are to be sold or any items that can potentially cause injury including but not limited to Glass Bottles, knifes, shanghaies
24. Chinchilla Melon Festival Committee reserves the right to prohibit the sale of any item.
25. No products to be sold with Chinchilla Melon Festival wording or logo on it.
26. No stubby coolers, caps / bucket hats to be sold with Chinchilla Melon Festival wording or logo on it.
Waste & Rubbish Removal
27. Stallholder must clean their site prior to leaving. All packaging and waste to be placed in appropriate bins for removal.
Festival Staff/Volunteers
28. Chinchilla Melon Festival Committee members are identified by a Chinchilla Melon Festival Committee shirt.
Weather
29. Chinchilla Melon Festival are all-weather markets, stallholder is responsible to provide own protection.
Map (Site Allocation)
30. A site map designating your site allocation will be issued approximately 2 weeks prior to the event and will be sent by email.

Emergency Services
32. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions from the Qld Police and State Emergency Service (SES).
33. Report all emergency incidents, no matter how small, to the Chinchilla Information Centre Information Booth.
