Year 11 Formal 2026 – Terms and Conditions
The Year 11 Formal is not organised, supervised or operated by St Augustine’s College. It is organised independently by parents of Year 11 students, with the blessing of the College.
The event will be held on Friday 25 September 2026, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, at Silkari Newport, 2 Queens Parade, Newport.
By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser agrees to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of themselves, the attending student and any guest included in the booking.
Ticketing and Attendance
1. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing a ticket. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to be bound by them.
2. Tickets are $100 per person and are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the Event Organiser.
3. A ticket is valid only for the person whose name is registered against it. Proof of purchase and identification may be requested upon entry.
4. Tickets may only be transferred with the prior approval of the Event Organiser. Updated attendee and emergency contact details must be provided before the event.
5. Tickets must not be copied, duplicated or altered.
6. Tickets must not be resold for more than their original purchase price. The Event Organiser reserves the right to cancel any ticket that has been fraudulently obtained or resold above face value.
7. Attendance is limited to current Year 11 St Augustine’s College students and their approved guests.
8. Students are responsible for ensuring their guest understands and complies with these Terms and Conditions.
9. The Event Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee who breaches these Terms and Conditions.
10. No refund will be provided if entry is refused or an attendee is removed due to a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
Arrival and Collection
11. Parents or guardians must remain contactable throughout the event.
12. If a student or guest is required to leave the event due to illness, inappropriate behaviour or a breach of these Terms and Conditions, their parent or guardian must arrange immediate collection from the venue.
13. Students and guests may not leave the venue and re-enter unless authorised by the Event Organiser.
Bag Policy
14. Each attendee may bring one small bag only, no larger than approximately A4 size.
15. Bags may be inspected by event supervisors or venue security as a condition of entry.
16. The Event Organiser accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings.
Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking and Vaping
17. This is a strictly alcohol-free, drug-free and vape-free event.
18. Alcohol, illegal drugs, cigarettes, vapes, e-cigarettes, nicotine products and any related equipment are strictly prohibited.
19. Any attendee who is intoxicated, appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or is found in possession of prohibited items will be refused entry or removed from the event immediately.
20. A parent or guardian will be contacted and must arrange immediate collection at their own expense.
21. Any prohibited items may be confiscated and handed to venue security, police or a parent or guardian where appropriate.
22. Under the Liquor Act 2007 (NSW), minors must not obtain, consume or possess alcohol on licensed premises, and adults must not supply alcohol to minors.
Behaviour
23. All attendees must behave respectfully towards fellow students, guests, parents, supervising adults, venue staff and suppliers.
24. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, violence, threatening behaviour, vandalism or any unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
25. Attendees must follow all reasonable directions given by supervising adults, security personnel and venue staff.
26. Any attendee whose behaviour is considered disruptive, unsafe or inappropriate may be removed without refund.
27. Parents or guardians may be held responsible for any damage deliberately caused by their child or guest.
Health and Safety
28. Parents or guardians must advise the Event Organiser of any significant medical condition, allergy or accessibility requirement prior to the event.
29. In the event of an accident or medical emergency, the Event Organiser may seek appropriate medical treatment, including calling an ambulance if required.
30. Any medical or ambulance costs remain the responsibility of the attendee's parent or guardian.
31. All attendees must comply with venue safety requirements and any reasonable directions provided by the Event Organiser.
Photography and Video
32. Photographs and video will be taken throughout the event by the Event Organiser and authorised photographers.
33. By purchasing a ticket, you consent to the student or guest appearing in event photography or video that may be shared with attendees or used to promote future Year 11 Formal events.
34. Parents who do not consent to photography should notify the Event Organiser in writing prior to the event. While reasonable efforts will be made, incidental inclusion in crowd photographs cannot be guaranteed.
35. Attendees must not post or share images or videos of others in a manner that is offensive, inappropriate or without consent.
Event Changes
36. The Event Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event, including the venue, entertainment, catering, timing or other arrangements where reasonably necessary.
37. If the event is cancelled by the Event Organiser, ticket holders will receive a refund of the ticket price, less any non-refundable booking fees charged by the ticketing provider.
38. If the event is postponed, tickets will remain valid for the new date unless otherwise advised.
Liability
39. Attendance at the event is at the attendee's own risk.
40. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Event Organiser is not liable for any loss, injury, damage or expense arising from attendance at the event, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
41. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Acceptance
42. By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser confirms that:
* they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions;
* they have discussed these Terms and Conditions with the attending student and any guest;
* the student and guest agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions; and
* they will remain contactable for the duration of the event and arrange immediate collection if required.
