Volunteer Waiver, Acknowledgement of Risk and Media Consent
Event: Nativity–Bosco Derby 2026 – AFL-Style Football Match

By signing this waiver, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
I, ____________________________________________ (Volunteer Full Name), agree to volunteer at the Nativity–Bosco Derby 2026 event and acknowledge the following terms:
1. Voluntary Participation
I am participating as a volunteer of my own free will and understand that my role may include activities such as event setup and pack down, match-day assistance, marshalling participants and spectators, operating equipment, fundraising, and other tasks as directed by event organisers.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand and assume all risks associated with my participation as a volunteer that volunteering at a community sporting event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
• Slips, trips and falls;
• Physical exertion and manual handling activities;
• Exposure to weather conditions;
• Accidental contact with participants, spectators or equipment;
• Other unforeseen incidents associated with sporting and community events.
3. Medical Coverage and Emergency Treatment
I confirm that I am responsible for arranging and maintaining my own health, medical and ambulance cover. Should I require medical treatment or emergency assistance, including ambulance transport, I acknowledge that I am personally responsible for any associated costs.
In the event of an emergency, I authorise event organisers to seek medical treatment on my behalf where it is reasonable and necessary to do so.
4. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the event organisers, volunteers, participating schools, sponsors and any affiliated persons from any claim, liability, loss, injury, damage or expense arising from or connected with my volunteer activities, including:
• My own actions or omissions;
• The actions or omissions of participants, spectators, volunteers or officials;
• Accidents or incidents occurring before, during or after the event;
• Equipment failure or venue-related incidents.
5. Fitness to Volunteer
I confirm that:
• I am physically capable of undertaking the volunteer duties assigned to me.
• I will advise event organisers if I have any condition that may impact my ability to safely perform my volunteer role.
• I will not undertake volunteer duties while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair my judgement or ability to work safely.
6. Compliance and Behaviour Standards
I agree to:
• Follow all directions provided by event organisers and designated coordinators.
• Comply with applicable safety requirements and event procedures.
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behaviour towards participants, spectators, volunteers, officials and organisers.
• Refrain from aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, threatening or inappropriate conduct.
• Immediately report any hazards, incidents, injuries or safety concerns to an organiser.
I understand that failure to adhere to these standards may result in my removal from the event and exclusion from future volunteer opportunities.
7. Photography, Video and Media Consent
I acknowledge that photographs, video recordings and other media may be captured during the event by organisers, volunteers, schools or authorised representatives.
By signing this waiver, I:
• Consent to being photographed, filmed and recorded while volunteering at or attending the event.
• Grant the organisers, Our Lady of the Nativity Primary School and St John Bosco Primary School permission to use, reproduce and publish such images or recordings in newsletters, school publications, websites, social media, promotional materials and community communications.
• Understand that no compensation will be provided for the use of such images or recordings.
• Waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials in which my image or likeness may appear.
