Terms and Conditions  −  Sacred Heart College Buy A Seat

1. Overview and Campaign Purpose
1.1. The 'Buy a Seat' campaign is a fundraising initiative organised by Sacred Heart College Geelong ('the College') to support the Sports and Wellness Capital Appeal.
1.2. By submitting a seat naming order and payment, the donor ('Donor') agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 The initial Campaign will be open for Seat purchases from 26 August 2026 to 31 December 2026.

2. Nature of the Contribution and Seating Rights
2.1. Donation Only: A seat purchase represents a philanthropic donation or sponsorship. It does not grant the Donor legal ownership or property rights to the physical seat, plaque or facility.
2.2. No Reserved Rights for Events: Naming a seat does not reserve or guarantee access to that specific seat (or ticket entry) for school performances, graduations, sporting events or other functions. Admission and seating for all events remain subject to standard ticketing and venue policies.

3. Inscription and Editorial Approval
3.1. Formatting Constraints: Inscriptions are limited to a maximum of 60 characters, including spaces and punctuation.
3.2. Content Approval: The College reserves the absolute right to review, edit or reject any proposed plaque text that it deems, in its sole discretion:
Inconsistent with the College’s mission, values, or code of conduct.
Political, promotional, commercial or potentially offensive.
3.3. Rejection Process: If an inscription request is declined, the College will contact the Donor to request an alternative wording. If an agreement cannot be reached, the donation will be refunded in full.
3.4. Final Proofing: The Donor is responsible for spelling, grammar and capitalisation in their initial submission. The College is not responsible for errors present on approved submission forms.

4. Seat Location and Assignment
4.1. Allocation: Seat locations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
4.2. Relocation Rights: The College reserves the right to relocate or reassign plaques if necessary due to facility repairs, safety requirements, architectural alterations or venue reconfigurations.

5. Term Duration and Maintenance
5.1. Term Length: Plaques purchased between 26 August 2026 and 31 December 2026 will be installed in February 2027. Plaques will remain installed for the operational lifespan of the physical seating, beginning from the date of installation.
5.2. Wear and Damage: The College will take reasonable measures to maintain plaques in good condition. However, the College is not liable for normal wear and tear, accidental damage, vandalism or force majeure events.
5.3. Facility Renovations: In the event of a major facility redevelopment or demolition prior to the end of the term, the College will make reasonable efforts to honour or relocate the recognition elsewhere in the school.

6. Payment and Tax Deductibility
6.1. Payment: Full payment must be received before plaque fabrication and installation commence.
6.2. Refund Policy: Except as outlined in Section 3.3, all contributions are non-refundable.
6.3. Tax Status: Contributions are tax-deductible. Donors will receive an official donation receipt via Trybooking when purchasing a seat. Please consult a qualified tax advisor regarding your individual situation.

7. Privacy and Data Handling
7.1. Donor contact information collected during this campaign will be used solely for processing the order, tax receipts and updating the Donor on the campaign's progress. Alumni contact information will also be updated in the College database.
7.2. The School will not sell or share personal donor information with third parties, except as required to fulfil the plaque production.
