NSDJCC Indoor Net Booking Terms and Conditions
By making this booking, the ticket buyer agrees to these Terms and Conditions and is responsible for ensuring that all players and supervising adults using the booking are aware of and comply with them.
1. Booking
Each ticket reserves one indoor cricket net for one hour at St Joseph's College (Joeys), Hunters Hill.
Bookings may be shared between players. NSDJCC recommends approximately two batters per net.
Bookings are for self-directed cricket practice. No coach or NSDJCC supervisor is provided as part of the booking.
Bookings are only available for players who are currently registered to play with North Sydney District Junior Cricket Club for the current cricket season. NSDJCC may cancel a booking where the player using the facility is not currently registered with the club. Bookings are only to be made for players in Stage 2 or Stage 3.
2. Adult Supervision
Players under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult for the entire booking.
A responsible adult must remain at the indoor centre throughout the session and is responsible for the behaviour and safe participation of the players in their care.
3. Bowling Machines
Bowling machines may only be operated by an adult. Children must not operate the machines.
Users must follow all instructions provided by NSDJCC, St Joseph's College and the equipment manufacturer regarding operation of the bowling machines.
The machine must not be used if it appears damaged, faulty or unsafe. Any problem or damage must be reported immediately to Greg on 0418 777 750.
Users must not modify, move, dismantle or attempt to repair the bowling machines or other equipment.
4. Protective Equipment and Safe Participation
Players must use appropriate cricket protective equipment for the activity being undertaken.
A suitable cricket helmet must be worn at all times when batting against the bowling machine. Other appropriate protective equipment must also be used for the player's age, ability and the speed being used.
The supervising adult is responsible for selecting an appropriate bowling-machine speed and setup for each player.
Players must not participate if doing so would be unsafe because of injury, illness or another condition.
5. Risk Warning
WARNING: Cricket training and the use of cricket bowling machines involve inherent and obvious risks of physical injury.
These risks include, but are not limited to, being struck by cricket balls, bats or equipment; falls, slips and collisions; equipment malfunction or misuse; and injuries that may be serious.
Participation is voluntary and players participate at their own risk.
The ticket buyer acknowledges these risks for themselves and, where applicable, as the parent or responsible adult accompanying junior participants.
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, North Sydney District Junior Cricket Club, its officers, volunteers and representatives are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from:
the inherent or obvious risks of participating in cricket or using the bowling machines;
misuse of the facility or equipment;
failure to follow these Terms and Conditions or reasonable safety instructions; or
the acts or omissions of participants or supervising adults.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
7. Damage and Facility Use
The ticket buyer is responsible for ensuring that the players and adults using their booking treat the facilities and equipment with care.
Any damage, fault or unsafe condition must be reported immediately to Greg on 0418 777 750.
Where damage is caused by deliberate misuse, reckless behaviour or failure to follow the operating instructions, NSDJCC may seek to recover the reasonable cost of repair or replacement from the person responsible.
Users must comply with all St Joseph's College venue requirements and must not access areas outside those provided for the booking.
8. Final Session of the Evening
If using the final session of the evening, the supervising adult is responsible for ensuring that:
the bowling machines are switched off, including at the power points on the wall;
all lights are switched off;
all personal belongings and cricket equipment have been collected;
the doors to the indoor centre are closed securely and are locked; and
the group leaves the facility quietly and respectfully.
Once the external doors have been pulled shut, they cannot be reopened without authorised access. Please check carefully that you have all belongings before closing the doors.
9. Booking Times
Bookings must start and finish within the allocated time.
Please leave the net promptly at the end of the booking so that the next group can commence on time.
A booking does not give the user exclusive access to the indoor centre. The second net may be occupied by another group.
10. Cancellations and Refunds
Bookings cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled session may be transferred to another available session or refunded.
Bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled session, or missed bookings, are not normally eligible for a refund or transfer.
If NSDJCC or St Joseph's College is unable to provide the booked facility, NSDJCC will offer an alternative session where reasonably possible or provide a refund.
NSDJCC may consider exceptional circumstances at its discretion.
11. Right to Refuse or End Use
NSDJCC may refuse or terminate use of the facility where participants are acting unsafely, misusing equipment, failing to comply with these Terms and Conditions or venue requirements, or behaving in a way that may damage the facility or affect NSDJCC's ongoing access to it.
