The MAKERS & FLEA MARKET at CERES – TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES is an outdoor market held at CERES Environment Park, cnr Roberts and Stewart Streets, East Brunswick.

The market will proceed in all weather conditions unless an extreme weather warning has been issued or if the weather forecast is for very hot (37 deg+), very wet or stormy weather. If this is the case, the market coordinator will notify you by text and/or email as early as possible.
[If the market is going ahead but you wish to postpone your booking due to weather, please contact the market coordinator as early as possible (before 7.30am on the market day if possible).

*MARKET HOURS: Saturdays 9am-2pm (Winter hours: June-August are 10am-3pm).
The market is closed from Christmas until mid-January.

* REGULAR (3mx3m) stalls cost $35
SMALL (1.5mx1.5m) stalls cost $30

*Bookings and payment are required online through Try Booking by 7PM FRIDAY (the night before the market you wish to attend) AT THE LATEST.




MARKET EQUIPMENT:

FOR HIRE -
*TABLES: 4ft (120cm x 60cm) tables are available to hire for $5 per day. These can be booked on Try Booking. The market does not hire marquees.

*If you are not hiring market equipment from the Makers & Flea Market, stallholders need to supply and set up their own table(s), clothes racks, marquee, umbrella, etc. THESE MUST BE WEIGHTED DOWN/SECURED AT ALL TIMES IN CASE OF WIND.
*If you do not have market equipment, you are welcome to bring a blanket, etc and set up your goods on the ground.
*There is almost no shade In the market area, so an umbrella or similar is recommended in hot weather. A waterproof cover for your goods is recommended if rain is forecast.


WHAT CAN YOU SELL?

Please email ceresmakersandflea@gmail.com with a description of what you wish to sell prior to booking a stall.

FOOD STALLS, BODY PRODUCTS AND ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS need to be pre-approved by the Market Coordinator PRIOR to booking a stall. Please email ceresmakersandflea@gmail.com before proceeding with a booking.

* No PLANTS please, as there is already a Nursery on site.
*Stallholders are welcome to sell handmade, pre-loved, up-cycled and recycled goods (no electrical or electronic goods please).
*New imported items may be sold only if they are Fair Trade.
*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES does not permit the sale of unethical, environmentally unfriendly or mass-produced items.
*No items with offensive language or images please. We are a family-friendly market.
*Stallholders may be required to supply photos of products upon applying for a stall.
*Sorry, there are NO POWERED SITES available.


SET UP AND PACK DOWN:

SET UP: MORNINGS
*Stallholders can access the market site at CERES from 7.30am (8.00am JUN-AUG) and should be on site no later than 8.30am for a 9am start (or 9.30am for a 10am start JUN-AUG).

*CARS CANNOT BE DRIVEN INTO THE MARKET AREA. Please leave your vehicle in the main CERES car park (cnr Robert & Stewart Streets) while you unload.

*When you arrive, the market coordinator will direct you to where you can set up your stall. (Locations are at the discretion of the market coordinator).

*If you have a lot of (or heavy) market equipment it is recommended that you bring your own trolley to transport it into the market area, as the walk from the car parks is approx. 50-80m.

*Please unload your car safely and efficiently, being mindful of and respectful towards other stallholders and their property, CERES visitors and staff. Please be patient if you need to wait for a parking space.


*PARKING DURING MARKET HOURS: Please note there is STRICTLY no parking for stallholders ANYWHERE on site while the market is open. Please do not leave your car in the main CERES car park (this is for our customers!) or in Lee St (this is a 3 hour parking area and you may get a ticket.)
AS SOON AS you have unloaded, please park your vehicle at the Cretan Brotherhood car park on the corner of Nicholson and Stewart Streets. (All-day Parking is FREE).

SO, IN THE MORNINGS:
1. Park your car safely and considerately
2. Take all your market equipment to your stall space as efficiently as possible
3. Move your car to the Cretan Brotherhood Carpark
4. Set up your stall



PACK DOWN: AFTERNOONS
*Pack down starts at 2.00pm and should be finished by 3.30pm (3:00pm for 4:30pm JUN-AUG)

*Please pack down as much of your stall as possible BEFORE you bring your car near or into CERES.

*You can park your car in the main CERES car park FOR A SHORT TIME while you pack your car. There are very limited parking spaces at the end of the day. Please pack your car quickly, safely and efficiently, being mindful of and respectful towards other stallholders, Ceres visitors and staff. Please be patient if you need to wait for a parking space.

SO, IN THE AFTERNOONS:
1. Pack down as much of your stall as possible
2. Get your car from the Cretan Brotherhood Carpark
3. Park your car safely and considerately
4. Take all your market equipment to your car and load it
5. Move your car off site


THE MAKERS & FLEA MARKET at CERES - RESPONSIBILITY AND RIGHTS:

*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES accepts no responsibility for adverse weather and no refunds will be given for this reason.
If the market is cancelled due to weather, stallholders will be given a credit to use at a future market.

*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES accepts no responsibility for damages to persons or goods as a result of stalls or their products. The stallholder is responsible for injury to any 3rd party as a result of their stall, themselves or their products. The Makers & Flea Market at CERES encourages stallholders to take out their own public liability insurance.

*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES does not permit the sale of unethical, environmentally unfriendly or mass-produced items and has the right to reject any stallholder whom they believe does not comply with these regulations.


STALLHOLDERS – RESPONSIBILITY AND RIGHTS:

*It is the responsibility of the stallholder to ensure they conform to any Australian standards pertaining to their product.

*Copying the ideas and work of other stallholders may be in breach of creative copyright and is not in the spirit of the market. Any grievances must be in writing.

*Stallholders are responsible for leaving their site and surrounding area clean and tidy. Boxes and rubbish must be removed from stall area.

*Stallholders must confine and secure their display and signs to the stall site and keep pathways clear for patrons.

*Stallholders' own umbrellas, gazebos/marquees, tables and covers must be weighted down/secure at all times. Please use weights (NOT PEGS).

*Packaging of stallholders’ products should be environmentally friendly – no new plastic bags please.

*In the interest of health and safety NO DOGS are permitted to enter the CERES Organic Grocery area. Dogs on site at CERES are to be on leads at ALL times.

*No gas or electrical appliances to be used unless by prior arrangement. There are no powered sites at the market.

*No smoking is permitted within the market area. Smoking is permitted in the park area near the Lee St gate, past the nursery. Please dispose of butts thoughtfully.

*All stallholders consent to images being used to promote The Makers & Flea Market at CERES.

CANCELLATIONS:
*Stall cancellations (due to weather, sickness or unforeseen circumstances) must be made BEFORE 9am on the day of the market (before 10am June-August) to receive a CREDIT.
(If you cancel your stall without notifying the market coordinator before 9am (10am June-August), you will NOT receive a credit.)

CERES PROPERTY AND EQUIPMENT:
*CERES property and equipment will be used in an authorised, efficient and appropriate way. This includes not willfully damaging property and equipment and reporting any damage to management. It is not appropriate to steal or misuse CERES property and equipment, nor assist others to do so.

MANAGEMENT OF DIVERSITY:
*Diversity among stallholders, CERES staff and visitors is recognised and valued. All forms of bullying, discrimination and harassment are prohibited.

PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR:
*The highest levels of professional conduct will be maintained in all interactions with other stallholders, CERES staff and visitors and the wider community whilst on site to contribute to a harmonious, safe and welcoming market in a manner consistent with the principles of:
- Courtesy and respect for others
- Integrity and fairness
- Taking responsibility for one’s actions and being accountable for the consequences
- Having proper regard for the interests, rights, safety and welfare of others
- Acting honestly, cooperatively and in a trustworthy manner
- Acting in the best interests of the Makers & Flea Market at CERES.

*The promotion of any cause or organisation should be conducted with honesty and transparency. It should seek to avoid undue harassment or coercion of visitors, aim to maintain public goodwill, be restricted to the stall booked and not impact in any way other stallholders or CERES enterprises.

*The Makers & Flea Market at CERES has the right to withdraw the right to trade of any stallholder if they are not acting in accordance with the Makers & Flea Market at CERES Terms and Conditions or Code of Conduct. Right to trade will only be reinstated if any dispute is resolved to the market coordinator’s satisfaction.

The MAKERS & FLEA MARKET AT CERES - CODE OF CONDUCT

It is a condition of being a stallholder at the Makers & Flea Market at CERES that professional conduct is maintained in all interactions with other stallholders, CERES staff and visitors and the wider community whilst on site to contribute to a harmonious, safe and welcoming market.

*Stallholders will show courtesy and respect towards other stallholders, CERES staff and visitors.
*Stallholders will not verbally abuse or threaten other stallholders, CERES staff or visitors.
*Stallholders will not bully or harass other stallholders, CERES staff or visitors.
*Stallholders will not intentionally physically harm other stallholders, CERES staff or visitors.
*Stallholders will not intentionally damage the property of another stallholder, CERES, CERES staff or visitor.
*Stallholders will act in a manner that contributes to the harmonious, safe and welcoming environment of CERES and the Makers & Flea Market at CERES.

A breach of any of these Code of Conduct rules will result in a warning.
TWO warnings will be given and a THIRD warning may result in a stallholder being banned from trading at the Makers & Flea Market at CERES.

DECLARATION:
BY SUBMITTING YOUR STALLHOLDER APPLICATION; OR BY CHOOSING TO CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE AS A STALLHOLDER AT THE MAKERS & FLEA MARKET AT CERES, YOU ARE AGREEING TO ALL OF THE MAKERS & FLEA MARKET AT CERES TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT.
