Program Rules, Regulations and Terms of Eligibility
Donations
• Opportunities exist for individuals or families to make donations to PJ Library. These funds will be used to make the PJ Library experience more accessible to more families throughout NSW and the ACT.
• It is not possible to make donations on behalf of or for the benefit of specific individuals or families.
• A donation is classified as any amount of AUD $100 and above.
• All donations are tax deductible through The Shalom Institute. Please ensure you have correctly filled out all your contact details if a you require a tax receipt for your files. This can be printed at the end of the process. In addition a soft copy will be emailed to the email address you have provided.
Guiding Principles
• PJ Library in NSW and the ACT distributes free, age-appropriate Jewish themed children’s books and CDs to families raising Jewish children aged 6 months to 6 years * (see section on ‘Age Specifications’).
• PJ Library is designed to ensure a sustainable Jewish future by building, strengthening and preserving Jewish identity within NSW and the ACT.
• PJ Library facilitates families to embark on constructive Jewish journeys and conversations as they explore the topics, themes and meanings of these colourful and enriching resources.
General Sign Up
• Every subscription must have a valid NSW or ACT postal address to participate in The PJ Library experience.
• Eligible families will need to be current residents of NSW or ACT at the date of sign up. Similarly, the children (the beneficiaries of the books) must also be current residents of NSW or the ACT. If a PJ Library subscriber relocates abroad, their subscription will be terminated one month prior to departure. Similarly, if a PJ Library subscriber moves interstate, their subscription will be terminated one month prior to departure.
• It is the responsibility of each participating family to notify the PJ Library team, in writing, if they decide to leave or move out of NSW or the ACT.
• A family or individual(s) may not sign up for PJ Library on behalf of another family or individual living within or outside of NSW or the ACT.
• Only parents or legal guardians may enrol their child(ren) in the PJ Library program.
• Subscriptions to PJ Library are not transferable.
• The cut off dates for sign up is the third Thursday of every month. This will ensure that enrolees are added to the next cycle of book orders (which will arrive 2 months after their date of sign up).
Selection and Waiting List
• All registrations for PJ Library will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.
• Once the quota of registrations has been reached, families will be automatically placed on a waiting list.
• Families on the waiting list will join the program as additional funds become available. The PJ Library team will notify such families of these developments.
Program Duration
• In NSW and the ACT, the PJ Library experience runs for a maximum duration of 5.5 years (if a child is signed up at 6 months of age).
• Please note, however, that families will need to renew their subscription / participation in the program each year (see the section on ‘Renewals’ for more details).
Renewals
• At the end of the first year of program participation, each family will need to actively opt in or out of the program.
• After 9 months of participation, each family be will sent up to 3 reminders (1 per month) to opt in for continuing with PJ Library.
• If no reply is received from the participating family, they will automatically be removed from the program, effective from the first month of the second year.
• The same process will follow for each subsequent year of participation in the program.
Subscription Fees
• The first year of the program is free of charge for all participating families.
• In the second and subsequent years of the program, families are encouraged to pay a nominal and optional subscription fee of AUD $50 (incl. GST) per year, if financially possible.
• These funds will be used to make PJ Library more accessible to more families throughout NSW and the ACT.
• There will be no refunds or rebates on any payments received by The Shalom Institute or the Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA) for these purposes.
• Subscription fees to PJ Library are not transferable.
• Subscription fees are not considered donations.
Privacy
• All details of participating families will be the property of The Shalom Institute and the JCA. These details will not be shared with other parties.
Special Consideration
• The Shalom Institute reserves the right to make special consideration for subscriptions and renewals with regards to communal organisations, leaders and potential or current donors.
Disclaimer
• The Shalom Institute reserves the right to amend, modify or change any of the above as the program develops.
• Pending long term and sustainable funding for the program, PJ Library may cease to operate in NSW and the ACT with 6 months notice.
Terms and Conditions
I acknowledge that I have read and have understood all of the ‘Program Rules, Regulations and Terms of Eligibility’ as stated above and agree to and accept them in their entirety.
