Terms and Conditions  −  Queenwood Lane Cove/Lindfield Bus Service

Students must be SAFE, CONSIDERATE and ensure behaviour REFLECTS WELL on them, their School, their friends, and their family.
This revised agreement incorporates all original expectations along with the additional requirements provided.
1. Behaviour and Respect
• Treat the bus driver, fellow students, and any accompanying staff with respect.
• Always follow the instructions of the bus driver.
• Use appropriate language and maintain a positive attitude.
• Fighting, shouting, and inappropriate language are prohibited.
• Students should not engage in conversation with the driver unless in an emergency.
2. Boarding and Exiting
• Wait in an orderly line at the bus stop.
• Tap on and off the bus with a valid bus pass when boarding and disembarking. Missing bus passes must be replaced the next day.
• Allow others to exit the bus before boarding.
• Board and exit the bus in a calm and organised manner.
• Attendance will be maintained by the bus driver or responsible staff member.
3. Seating
• K–Y2 students must sit in the front seats of the bus.
• Students must take their seats promptly and remain properly seated facing forward while the bus is in motion.
• Students must put on their seatbelts immediately after sitting.
• Remain seated while the bus is in motion.
• Do not change seats whilst the bus is in motion.
• Keep feet off the seats.
4. Safety Measures
• Students must always wear their seatbelts.
• Bags and parcels should be placed under the seat or on the lap, not in the aisle.
• The aisle must always be kept clear.
• Students must keep their heads, hands, and arms inside the bus at all times.
• Throwing objects inside or outside of the bus is strictly prohibited.
• Windows must always remain closed. No student is permitted to open a bus window.
• Do not extend arms or objects out of windows.
• Tampering with any bus equipment is strictly forbidden. Any damage caused must be covered by the parents of the students responsible.
5. Personal Belongings
• Students must keep personal belongings secure and in their designated area.
• Do not bring any items that may disturb or harm others.
• Bags, equipment, and water bottles must be removed at the time of exit.
6. Noise Levels
• Keep noise levels to a minimum to ensure a safe and distraction-free environment for the bus driver.
• Talking must be kept at a low volume.
7. Emergency Procedures
• Students must familiarise themselves with emergency exit locations.
• Follow emergency procedures as directed by the bus driver.
8. Personal Safety
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to the bus driver immediately.
• Students must not engage in any behaviour that may compromise their own safety or the safety of others.
9. Mobile Phone Devices and Social Media
• Onboard phone calls are permitted only in extenuating circumstances.
• Nokia-style phones (‘start phones’) without cameras and Wi-Fi connection are preferable.
• iPhones should have parental controls – for phone calls and messaging only.
• Students under the age of 16 should not access or view any social media content whilst on the bus.
10. Bullying and Harassment
• Treat others with kindness and respect.
• Report any incidents of bullying or harassment to the bus driver or your school authorities.
11. Eating, Drinking, and Cleanliness
• Eating and drinking inside the bus is not permitted. Water is permitted.
• Students must ensure the bus remains clean and free of litter.

12. Consequences for Violation
• Bus drivers have been asked to report poor behaviour on buses to relevant school authorities.
• Violation of this agreement may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspension from bus services, or other appropriate measures.
• Students who choose not to adhere to these guidelines may be asked not to travel to and from school by bus in the future.
