WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

These day-long workshops are intentionally not arranged around a particular topic or skill in CI. Rather we will allow the frame of learning to be more open. 

We will get moving and continue moving. We will get curious, stay curious, and hold any understandings with lightness. We will tune into sensation, to gravity and other natural forces, to connection with our dance partner/s. We will take time, we will be embodied. Themes will be emergent on the day. We will absolutely dance Contact Improvisation.

These workshops will enhance body awareness and integration. We will create a sense of playful focus and exploration, where improvisation allows a deepening of concepts and skills.

These workshops are open to all levels of experience.

Contact Improvisation is a highly enjoyable dance form that involves the dynamic play of natural forces, such as gravity and momentum, with the communicative ability of touch and contact.

Cost (single workshop): 
$100 full-waged  /  $80 part-waged  /  $70 unwaged

ARTISTS BIO

Joey Lehrer has been dancing as far back as he can remember. He is an improvisational performance artist, movement teacher and somatic practitioner. He is a respected teacher, writer and performer of the Contact Improvisation form - having taught and performed extensively across Australia, as well as in New Zealand, Malaysia, Germany and the United States. He is one half of the artist duo Two For Now, an artist duo who research, teach and perform Contact Improvisation.

TICKET TRANSFER & CANCELLATION POLICY

Ticket Transfer Policy:
• Tickets are not-transferable. You cannot sell your ticket to another person.

Ticket Cancellation Policy:
• If a cancellation is received less than a week before the commencement of a workshop, payment will be refunded minus a $25 cancellation fee.
• If a cancellation is received less than 48hrs before the commencement of a workshop, no refund of workshop payment will be given.
• If we cancel the workshop, a full refund will be given.
