I’m excited to offer a 4-week Contact Improvisation course!
In this course, we explore fundamental Contact Improvisation techniques.
These include our relationship with the ground, gravity and ourselves.
Then we’ll start to apply these techniques to partner work, where we work on key foundations like rolling, leaning, weight sharing, finding the point of contact, counterbalance, and lifting.
We’ll explore how to give and receive weight with a partner without using unnecessary strength, move in and out of base and flyer roles, and bring these skills into CI jams and open practice.
By listening and responding to our partner through the body, we’ll learn how movement can naturally emerge between two people.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are a beginner, or an experienced dancer looking to deepen the technical aspect of Contact Improvisation.
Let’s explore the basic techniques of Contact Improvisation together!
Dates: 24 September, 1, 15 & 22 October
Course options:
4-week pass — $120
3-week pass — $95
2-week pass — $70
