Sleep Training 2026 - for clinicians, through an OT lens
About
Sleep Matters! How our clients are sleeping affects every aspect of our clinical practice. And we (allied health clinicians) have essential knowledge and skills to support our clients' sleep. With over 45 years of experience as an occupational therapist in hospital, community, specialist equipment and research settings, Sue presents this course with an OT lens. It is relevant to OTs and other allied health clinicians who are working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
This course is presented with practical application to all clinical groups (all ages, all conditions, all settings). We'll consider current evidence for sleep and circadian health, with case studies and discussion for application to our varied client groups.
All sessions will be online (live and interactive) and recorded, available to participants for 6 months. Each session comes with course handouts, with resources and fact sheets for clinicians to adapt and use to suit their own clinical setting. Interactive discussion is encouraged throughout the course, and we have a long-term information-sharing group for all participants.
We will follow the SleepLinks Sleep Comfort Map (www.sleeplinks.com.au) as a framework for understanding current evidence around sleep and circadian health and as a guide for considering options for individualised assessment and interventions.
