Mindful Bird Photography - 5 Week Course
About
Join Professional Photographer and Bird Enthusiast Joel Frankham and Clinical Psychologist Dr Lucy Frankham for this unique offering. Learn mindful bird photography in a way that blends technical skill with wellbeing.A practical course designed to cultivate calm and deepen your connection to the natural world through mindfulness and time in nature, all while enjoying the satisfaction of refining your photography skills.
Rather than focusing only on technical skills, this course brings together simple photography techniques with mindful awareness — helping you notice light, movement, and moments that are often missed.
You’ll learn how to observe birds and their behaviour, work with natural light, and capture meaningful images, instead of focusing on complicated setups. Along the way, you’ll also explore how tuning into your surroundings — including birdsong, stillness, and small details — can support a greater sense of calm and presence.
This course is suitable for beginners to intermediate photographers who want to step away from pressure and perfection, and instead develop a more intuitive, grounded approach to photography. You will also learn how to use your camera in manual mode and apply simple editing techniques to enhance your images.
It’s not about getting the perfect shot.
It’s about learning to notice what’s already there.
To get the most out of this course, you will need:
