More.......About each Webinar:
Webinar 1: Moving from Teaching to Reflecting. June 11th 2026 9.30am AESTA concern often debriefed in SoS is from supervisors worried they are spending too much time in the ‘Lecture Theatre’ teaching their supervisees 'what to do' in supervision at the cost of developing the supervisees reflective practice skills. We take a developmental lens to this dilemma and look at both the developmental stages of the supervisor AND the developmental stages of the supervisee which may be informing this dynamic. We will explore a framework for transitioning from the teaching space to the reflective space informed by Motivational Interviewing and share a selection of open question micro-skills to get your supervision heading in a more reflective, deeper learning direction. Content will reference Daf Hewson’s Supervision Spaces but previous training in this model is not essential.
Webinar 2: Preparing Well for Supervision July 28th 2026 9.30am AEST
The impact of good supervision doesn’t end when the session finishes—it ideally resonates between sessions, shaping practice in meaningful and ongoing ways. Preparation plays a powerful role in laying the foundations for this.
In this webinar, we’ll explore the Supervisor’s role in supporting thoughtful, purposeful preparation that enhances both the depth and continuity of supervision. Together, we’ll consider how preparation can invite richer reflection, strengthen focus, and make supervision more than a one-off conversation.
Fiona will share practical frameworks and ideas to help scaffold supervisees’ preparation, supporting supervision as an ongoing, evolving process rather than a standalone session.
Webinar 3: Supporting Supervisees in crisis 29th Sept 2026 9.30am AEST
Times of crisis are a perennial fact of life for us all. For the supervisor, supporting a supervisee in crisis can present many challenges. In this webinar tara will introduces a resource to assist supervisors deliver effective supervision when challenged by a supervisee in crisis. How do we stay in our lane? When should we guide a supervisee to take leave? How do we balance restorative functions focused on the supervisees wellbeing with reviewing client care and competency to practice.
Webinar 4: Supervision When You’re Not the Smartest Person in the Room Oct 27th 9.30am AEDT
Supervisors may naturally feel challenged when their supervisees have more experience or expertise in certain areas of practice than they do. It’s not uncommon for Supervisors to carry some pressure to be the “expert” in the room - but what if supervision doesn’t require that at all?
This webinar invites a redefinition of “expertise,” exploring how the role of the Supervisor can shift from knowledge-holder to reflective facilitator. We’ll consider how a clear supervision contract and thoughtful onboarding process can set expectations that support this stance from the outset.
Together, we’ll explore frameworks that allow supervisees to bring their own skills and expertise, while you hold the process with steadiness and confidence.
