Year 7 Father & Son Camp 2026

hero

Welcome to all the Grade 7 Fathers & Sons for 2026!

This is it — the final year of the Father & Son Camp. For many of you, you’ve done Year 5 and Year 6 and already know how good this weekend is. For those joining for the first time, it’s simple — this is one you don’t want to miss.

We’ve got a great weekend lined up again this year, with a few additions to keep things fresh. Planning is already underway, so we encourage families to secure their spot early.

Why You Should Attend

It’s not just camping — it’s a well-run weekend with the right balance of activity and downtime. Across the weekend we have mountain biking, indoor bouldering, canoeing, and a full range of camp activities including competitions. What starts as a father and son weekend quickly becomes just as much about the boys bonding with their mates and the dads doing the same.

When and Where

Date: Join us on the King's Birthday long weekend, October 2nd (Friday) - 5th (Monday). Please note the camp falls on the last weekend of the Sept/Oct school holidays.  You can arrive Friday or Saturday morning. Official welcome is 12pm Saturday.

Location: Nestled in the pristine natural beauty of the Great Sandy National Park, Noosa Camp (at BIG4 Park Lane Noosa North Shore) is located at 1 Beach Rd, Noosa North Shore. The campsite is only accessible by car ferry.

What's Happening?

A mix of organised activities, competitions, and relaxed time around camp. We’ll also be watching the NRL Grand Final on Sunday night — always a highlight. Monday morning is pack-up, with the camp finishing at 8am.

Weekend Competitions: The Father-Son Handball competition is the main event — and with this being the final year, it’s your last chance to be crowned reigning champions. Competitions will also run across fishing, mountain biking, trivia, and chess, with prizes and trophies up for grabs.

What's Included in the Ticket Price?

  • Campsite fees
  • All meals (breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks)
  • All activities (indoor bouldering, canoeing)
  • Communal tent with lighting, tables, and kitchen

What's Not included?

  • Bike hire - Bring your own or hire directly from the Noosa Camp. Cost: $100 for the long weekend. You can book this when purchasing your ticket.

Accommodation/Ticket Options:

1) Tent Camping - $450 (2 people)

Tent sites will be allocated pre-arrival. If you wish to camp next to other families, email your request after all parties have purchased tickets. Cut-off date for requests: is Wednesday, September 10th. Please note: No power or water is supplied for tent sites. A power bank for charging phones/devices will be available in the main building.

2) Caravan/RV Camping - $695 (2 people)

Powered/water caravan sites are limited, so please book early to avoid missing out. Please note: You will need to provide or hire your own caravan/RV, which is not included in the ticket price.

3) Camping Huts/Cabins

Unfortunately, camping huts/cabins are not available this year due to a restructure of the campground. An alternative is to hire an RV/caravan/camper van, however sites are limited. Please book early to avoid missing out.

Off Site Accommodation: is NOT permitted. All attendees must stay at Noosa Camp within our designated site.

Action Required (Please Read)

To help us organise the camp properly, we need early bookings from families. This year we’ve organised camp merchandise for the boys, so you’ll need to nominate your son’s shirt size during ticket purchase. Sizing must be submitted by July 10th. After this date, we can’t guarantee correct sizing or availability.

If you’re planning to attend, please don’t leave your booking until the last minute. Early numbers are important for catering, campsite planning, activities, and merchandise orders.

Campsite configurations

Please see the photo below of a typical campsite layout, with the car and tent positioned parallel. No glamour tents are permitted due to space constraints. However families can request to be camped together to share larger tents.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to buy two tickets? No, one ticket includes an adult and child.

Do I need to book a site with the Noosa North Shore Retreat? No, we have a group booking - just purchase a ticket.

Can I book a different site/accommodation directly with the Noosa North Shore Retreat or other nearby accommodation? No, booking a different site or accommodation directly with the Noosa North Shore Retreat or other nearby accommodations is not allowed. The reason for this is we now have a designated area for the camp, Noosa Camp, and no other camping options are permitted. If you book alternative accommodation, you and your son will not be able to participate in the father/son camp.

I want to bring my Caravan/RV. How do I book? You will need to book Caravan/RV Camping option.

Can another family share our caravan/RV?  Yes. One family will need to book the Caravan/RV Camping option, while the second family should book a Tent Camping ticket under their own name. Once booked, please email the organisers to advise that both families will be staying together in the same caravan/RV.

I want to hire a glamour tent. How do I book? Due to their size, glamour tents are not permitted onsite. As an alternative, you can book a Caravan/RV site and provide or hire your own RV/caravan. Sites are limited.

What size tent can I bring? Ideally a medium-sized 4-man tent per campsite. If you want to bring a larger tent, or camp with other families, please email a request to the committee by Wednesday, September 10th. See Campsite configuration photo.

How do I get to Noosa North Shore Retreat? The Noosa North Shore Ferry runs with two large ferries. Cost is $32 return. No booking is required — simply turn up and pay when boarding.

Do I need a 4WD vehicle to access Noosa Retreat? No, all roads to the venue are paved.

Can I bring another child? The event is open to Year 7 students only. In exceptional circumstances, you may bring another sibling. You will need to purchase an additional child ticket for $120.

One of my son’s classmates' father/guardian cannot attend. Can they come with us? Yes, just add them to your booking as an additional child. The ticket price is $120.

Managed Activities: Some activities offered over the weekend will be run by the Noosa School Camp & Retreat.

Can I bring a bike? Yes! Bring your own or hire one for $100 per long weekend. You can book this when purchasing your ticket.

Are motorised devices allowed? No eBikes, eScooters, outboards, due to safety concerns. If unsure, contact us.

Who will apply sunscreen to my son and ensure he brushes his teeth? We take no responsibility for bad parenting.

Do I need to pack different clothes for my son? It's up to you. Based on past camps, they generally arrive home in the same clothes they left in.

Is there parking onsite? Yes, there are no restrictions on parking.

Can you cater to allergies and dietary requirements? We don’t have a commercial kitchen or professional chefs. But we will do our best to accommodate specific needs. Please speak to the kitchen team via the 'contact event organiser'.

How can I help? All fathers will be required to chip in over the weekend. A roster will be posted on Friday detailing which father is on kitchen and various other duties.
