Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2026The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is Australia’s longest running, largest and best known mathematics competition. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students across Australia and around the world participate in this exciting challenge designed to develop mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
The AMC encourages students to challenge themselves through engaging and thought-provoking questions while building confidence and a deeper understanding of mathematics.
For students in Years 3–12.
About the Competition
• A 60-minute maths competition for Years 3–4 and Years 5–6
• A 75-minute maths competition for Years 7–8 and Years 9–12
• Exam format: 25 multiple-choice questions and 5 integer response questions
What to Bring
Students must bring:
• Pencils and eraser
• Their own device (laptop / iPad / tablet) with an internet browser
• Optional: approved calculator (Middle & Upper Primary divisions only)

• Test Dates: 4–6 August 2026
• Start Time: 4:30pm
(Please arrive 15–20 minutes early for device setup and system adjustment.)

Why Participate?
AMC helps students strengthen critical thinking, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities in a fun and challenging environment. Participants also have the opportunity to receive certificates and awards for outstanding achievement.
