About

Kids' Beginner Ceramics Workshop - get those creative hands muddy!
Looking for something fun for the kids these school holidays?

We're running a 3-hour beginner ceramics workshop at Stellar Studios and we'd love to have your creative makers join us!

Over the session the kids will get hands-on with real clay and learn three different ways to build - pinching, coiling, and slab work. We'll also be exploring texture and surface decoration.
No experience needed, just enthusiasm.

⭐ Quick FAQs - Everything you need to know! ⭐

💲 How much / how do I book?

$88 per child (incl. GST).

Book via the TryBooking link in the post - payment secures the spot.

What should they wear?

Old clothes they can get messy in - clay washes out of most fabrics but can stain, so nothing precious.

Pop a smock in their bag if you have one.

My child is 6 / 14 - can they come?

The workshop is designed for ages 7-13. If you're right on the edge, send us a message and we'll have a chat.

What about food / allergies?

There's a popcorn break halfway through.

Please let us know any allergies when you arrive (or message us beforehand).

Pop a water bottle in their bag too.

When do they take their piece home?

Clay needs to dry, then be fired, glazed and fired again - so pieces aren't ready on the day.

Finished work can be collected from Stellar Studios in approximately one month from the workshop.

We'll let you know when it's ready.

No experience needed?

None at all - just enthusiasm! Everything is beginner-friendly.

Where / parking?

Stellar Studios, 1/118 Payne Road, New Gisborne.

Do I stay or drop off?

This is a drop-off workshop; Pop back at 12:30pm for pickup.

Please make sure to fill out emergency contact details when booking.

Supports:

We can help arrange arts-trained support workers for students with additional needs (additional cost / funding-dependent).

Get in touch to discuss.
