Hay Mates – A Fun, Friendly Day for Horses & Horse Lovers

Looking for a relaxed day out with like-minded horse people?

Whether you bring your horse or simply come along to watch, Hay Mates is all about learning, connecting and enjoying horses in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Hay Mates isn't a club—there are no memberships, committees or ongoing commitments. Simply book into the days that interest you and enjoy spending time with horses and other horse lovers.

Hay Mates is perfect for:
🐴 Young or inexperienced horses who would benefit from a social outing in a low-stress environment. Horses can participate in a lesson or simply relax in a yard and enjoy being part of the day.
💚 Riders wanting to build more connection, softness and harmony in their flatwork.
🌱 Horse owners wanting help with groundwork, confidence building and problem solving.
👀 Horse lovers who would like to watch, learn and ask questions without bringing a horse.
🤝 Meeting other local horse people in a friendly, inclusive environment.

A Calm Environment for Horses

To help create a relaxed, low-stress atmosphere, horse numbers are intentionally capped at just 8. This allows each horse plenty of space and helps make the day enjoyable for everyone.

Fence sitters are unlimited, so if you'd simply like to watch, learn and enjoy the day, we'd love to have you join us.

By booking a Hay Mates event and selecting the acknowledgement below, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the following Conditions of Entry.

Cancellation Policy
• More than 3 days' notice: Full refund.
• 3 days to 24 hours' notice: Cancellations due to illness or injury of the horse or participant may receive a credit towards a future Hay Mates event at the organiser's discretion.
• Less than 24 hours' notice: No refund or credit, except at the organiser's discretion.

Photography & Media
Harmony Horsemanship may take photos and videos throughout the day for promotional and educational purposes. By attending, you consent to Harmony Horsemanship using images or video footage that may include you and/or your horse in print, online and on social media. If you do not wish to appear in photographs or videos, please notify the organiser before the commencement of the event, and every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate your request.

Participant Recording
To protect the privacy of participants and ensure training methods, discussions and individual learning experiences are not taken out of context, video recording of lessons or sessions by attendees is not permitted. Photos for personal use are welcome, provided they respect the privacy of other participants and their horses.

Liability Waiver
Horse activities involve inherent risks. All participants, including Fence Sitters, are required to read and sign a Liability Waiver and Release Form before the commencement of the event. This document will be provided by the organiser. Participants who do not sign the waiver will be unable to attend the event.

Hay Mates is a welcoming, inclusive community where horses and people are treated with kindness, patience and respect. By attending, participants agree to contribute to a positive, supportive and encouraging environment so that everyone—both human and horse—can enjoy the day in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.
