Oktoberfecht returns in 2026 for two days of high-level historical fencing, bringing together competitors from across Australia to test their skill in Longsword, Sidesword, and Rapier+Dagger.
This year introduces a streamlined ruleset designed to keep the action flowing, encourage more exchanges, and reward technical, decisive fencing. What does that look like?
SATURDAY:
Pools for all events, featuring 4 minute matches
SUNDAY :
Tier A and B Eliminations and Finals for all events
Matches in elims and finals feature longer match times and higher point caps, for more fencing action!
Whether you're chasing a podium finish or looking to measure yourself against some of Australia's best fencers, Oktoberfecht is built to showcase the highest standard of HEMA competition while providing an challenge for every entrant.
As always, competitors can expect the high-quality refereeing and organisation that Oktoberfecht is known for.
Tournament results will be submitted to HEMA Ratings in the usual way, and all results will be submitted to the Australian Historical Fencing League.
