The Elements That Connect Us: Sound Healing & Art Making
About
Ground yourself with the elements of earth in an experience crafted to nourish your nervous system. Experience a sound healing journey, connecting us to Country, creativity and intercultural stories. This bespoke immersion has been designed as two separate events, so you can come to one or to both sessions.
On Sunday 13 Sept, the event will begin with a nourishing sound journey curated by master sound facilitator: Suzie Alexopoulos from Sound Healing Academy. With a background in yoga, theatre, and astrology her sound journey may even take you to a heartful liminal state making dreams feel tangible.
The artmaking in this session will be passionately guided by First Peoples landscape architect, ecologist, astronomer and watercolour artist Kirstine Wallis. Participants will create a watercolour reflection capturing their sound journey and leave inspired with renewed hope for a regenerative future.
On Sunday 11 October the event will begin with a heartful Acknowledgment by First Peoples culturalist Kirstine Wallis . You will then be treated to the gentle creative facilitation of Chrissie Theodorou, trained in architecture and ikebana, the art of Japanese floral sculpture. Chrissie will guide you in making a native bark, earth and floral mandala. An enriching process of making a heartfelt collective intention weaving together stories of intercultural heritages. Please bring something found in nature.
You will then be invited into the ballroom to lie down, close your eyes and be guided through a restorative sound journey with master sound facilitator: Christina Davidson from Sound Healing Academy. Expect to be grounded with flowing tones of Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, medicine drums, rain stick and an angelic voice. A precious time to press pause and discover spacious moments of insight and inspiration in a deep state of relaxation.
In both experiences you will be gently guided back to heartful awareness through
a tea and bliss ball infused with native ingredients. Limited to 22 guests only.

About the Venue and social impact:
Initiatives of Change is a non-profit movement of changemakers building bridges across the world's divides in over 60 countries. Initiatives of Change Australia began in Melbourne over 70 years ago and Armagh, a 120-year-old heritage home in Toorak was gifted to the organisation. This enabled grassroot programs to flourish with a focus on ethical leadership, peace building, trust building, healing and reconciliation which continue today. Armagh has been an important gathering place of belonging for intercultural and intergenerational communities.
The Elements that Connect Us promotes intercultural collaboration weaving together sound healing, artmaking and dance with stories of ecology, astronomy, neuroscience and social impact. In the spirit of generosity, we suggest if you purchase a ticket and cannot attend, we can gift your ticket to our community of First Peoples and volunteers as we do not offer refunds.
